First of all what is the heart? The brain, where you think?

The bible often says things like "think in your heart" or "reasoned in their hearts". This sounds like it simply means the mind, where you think thoughts.

But then why do christians make a difference between heart and mind?

How can you even know wether you believe in the heart or not?
Or how can you know if you doubt in the heart or somewhere else?:doh:
You can say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and there is no stress.
If you do not beleive that Jesus is Lord and the associated faith is not in your spirit it will grate against your spirit and you will find it difficult to even say it.

1 John 4:2-3
2. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
