How do yall spread the Gospel? Like how do yall talk to stranger about it? What do you say? Or with friends? Or any other way you spread the Gospel. I have to do something. My main job as a Christian I absolutely fail at. Please let me know your techniques or methods.

Hello and welcome. I mostly use this forum to spread the Gospel to Christians.

In Matthew 4:15-23, Jesus began his ministry with the Gospel message to repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand, which was a light to the Gentiles, and God's law is how his audience knew what sin is (Romans 3:20), so repenting from our disobedience to it is central to the Gospel message. In Titus 2:11-14, our salvation is described as being trained by grace to do what is godly, righteous, and good, and to renounce doing what is ungodly, so God graciously teaching us to obey His law for how to do these works is itself the content of His gift of salvation. Furthermore, in Titus 2:11-14, Jesus gave himself to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people of his own possession who are zealous for doing good works, so becoming zealous for doing good works in obedience to God's law is the way to believe in what Jesus accomplished through his ministry and through the cross.

Spreading the gospel, which means good news. Gives no one God's free gift of Eternal Life salvation.

It is not faith in the gospel that gives a person Eternal Life. But faith in Jesus The Messiah, that gives a person God's free gift of Eternal Life, where the person becomes born again child of God and crosses over from death to life.

Just tell what God has done for you. Your testimony with a scripture. Be friendly start a conversation. Then say something about God or Jesus. Like the new movie: Jesus Revolution.

You witness. If you don't know what to day.. then just share what He has done in your life or what He means to you.. your story. Like every other since creation yours is being written and He always gets the glory. It will always in some way turn out for your good... by through in Jesus Christ...

Brother Kane, it is great that you are wanting to tell people the Good News. That is the sacrifice that Jesus did for us on the cross.
As believers we need to go out into society and tell people what God did for us. We cannot just sit and let people perish. After all, we are to copy what Jesus did. He went out and told people about the Kingdom of God. Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us". If we truly love the lost, we will tell them the Good News. The second greatest commandment was to love your neighbour as you loved yourself.
The comments above are very useful. But overall, telling the Gospel is the most important thing. After all, the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. Then once you have told the Gospel, the Holy Spirit can work through a person's conscience.
NOTE: Our friendships are not the power of God unto salvation. Nor are our good deeds. And neither our testimony, youth groups or going to church. The Gospel is the Power of God unto salvation. So, we are to say the Good News aloud. Our friendships, good deeds and our testimony are good though as they show that our faith is real. Then when a person sees that our faith is real by looking at the way we act, and that it is not just hollow words, when we say the Gospel, it will give it more validity as we speak it.
I go into the parks regularly and share the Gospel. Your best bet is to write out the Gospel in such a way that non-believers will understand it and then memorise it. If you memorise it, it will become a part of you.
Also, many street preachers will point out that you are best to preceed the Gospel with the bad news. That is that the unbeliever has sinned and fallen short of Gods standards. Afterall, why would they need God if they already think that they are a good person. Then once the unbeliever can see he will be in trouble on Judgement Day, that is when you tell him the Good News of what Jesus did. The unbeliever will then run to the cure, which is Jesus.
Have a read of this. It is what I do, and this will make it very easy to start a conversation with a total stranger. Most people in the park actually enjoy it.

A good question met with good responses. I'd just like to add 1 thing to the grand tapestry of ideas you've already received from the other kind folks here.

It's easier than ever to be an evangelist. As a fellow Christian who believes evangelization is key, but is very squeamish about actually doing it, I started using random chat rooms & anonymous forum websites to evangelize. The personal touch of face-to-face conversation, shared meals, all the wonderful relational ministries that Jesus did so well, is largely lacking in online chat rooms. However, what better way to reach people when you're just bored at home, waiting for the lasagna to bake?

After doing this for awhile, I think God saw a genuine effort, and gave me more & more evangelical zeal. Now I feel free to initiate conversations about it in person. So maybe for you, just bringing up Jesus, when you're anonymous & just texting a stranger online, is a very good way to begin the journey of evangelization.

Whether or not it's effective is hard to say, but I'm attaching an image I use a lot when doing this. I like it because it's beautiful, it's simple, and one of the most universally appealing things Jesus said (quote from John 10:10, with "they" changed to "you" so it makes more sense to people unfamiliar with this passage). Occasionally the online strangers even thank me for sharing it. Ultimately, any kind of evangelization is an act of faith. Practice, learn, improve, but know that it's God Himself who ultimately gives the gift of faith.

Oh, and one other thing. My local library has a free book cart. People can just leave old books there for other people to take for free. I like to leave religious books there, and they always get taken within a few days. Again, the personal touch is lost, but it's a great way to get God's word out there, while still building up the courage to speak about Christ face to face.

Hi Rev Alex. I too post things online when I can. I had become a very well-known member on one of the most popular forums for a certain sport I play. After years of not posting anything about my faith, I finally made a thread just over a year ago. When I posted it, I had many believers from the sport encourage me and thank me for my post. I was also able to put up a number of apologetics that really made the unbelievers think. We had a very good discussion that was nice and civil. It was a great way to get people to think about the most important thing in life. Their eternity.

If you are shy, then get some literature that has the Plan of Salvation on it, and give it out.

My Faith in Christ began when i was 5 Yrs old, and i found a "Chick Tract" laying on the ground outside a Post Office.
I read it, and remember it til this day, decades later.

It was this one......>" "This was your Life".

Another good one is....>"Somebody Goofed"..


How about a T-Shirt that says....>"Ask me about how to go to heaven".

If you wear that one, you wont have to worry about starting a lot of conversations, as your T shirt is an open door.

Just be sure you understand the Cross of Christ as that is the only WAY there...... John 14:6

i share the Gospel by being compassionate towards other people & loving my neighbor even if i don't agree with some of the things they do or even if i'm hated for being a believer, i would share the Gospel with somebody that doesn't believe the same way i do

I want to first point out that your main job as a Christian isn't to proselytize, but to be the disciple of Jesus and love others. Evangelism flows from that. And while I think there are plenty of bad ways to evangelize, I don't think there's any single right way to evangelize either.

From the Lutheran tradition which I am part of we have what we describe as our theology of vocation, which simply means that each of us plays a role in our relationships with others--as friends, as neighbors, as employees, employers, husbands, wives, children, parents, etc. The shoe-maker makes shoes, the ditch digger digs ditches, the physician treats ailments. And these are themselves holy and good. We bear witness and give answer to the hope that we have through our relationships, through our vocations. Those called and ordained as pastors have as their central vocational responsibility of preaching and shepherding the flock of Christ with Word and Sacrament. Others have as their vocation as an evangelist or missionary, that is their vocation--they go and meet the needs of others out there in the world through missionary activity, both bodily needs as well as spiritual. But each of us also serves in a ministerial capacity by loving our neighbor, by inhabiting our vocations with Christian love and abiding in God's word--mothers and fathers minister to their children, teaching and preaching the Gospel, as well as instructing in God's commandments, and guiding children and raising them up in the faith. That is evangelism.

In my workplace I devote my energies to trying to do my job in such a way that reflects my faith, it would be inappropriate of me to try and proselytize in the workplace, but it's also not a secret that I'm a Christian, and I desire to treat my coworkers with love, respect, kindness, and also interact with the public in such a way that I desire to demonstrate the Christian virtues. If questions are ever asked, I answer them to the best of my abilities.

In my relationships with friends, I desire to be a good friend, being someone my friends can depend on, can turn to, and know they are loved, respected, and I try to demonstrate Christian virtues. When questions are asked, I answer them to the best of my abilities.

I want to point to Jesus, in the words I use, in the attitude I have, and the way I try to live my life.

It's not my job to make other people Christian, because the only One who can make an unbeliever into a believer is God, it is the Holy Spirit who gifts faith, but He does so through the word ("faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ" Romans 10:17) and so if I am believing the word, and if I am abiding in the word, and if that word is on my lips then I am confident that God will do that which He has promised to do (Isaiah 55:11).

I'm not a missionary nor an evangelist, but I am a disciple of Jesus and I pray that God put to death my flesh and old man and continually operate on me that the new man in Christ might live and walk in obedience. I'll never be the reason why anyone ever believes in Jesus (heaven forbid it), only Jesus will ever be the reason someone believes in Jesus; and so I pray and hope that Jesus is first and foremost. Trusting in the Gospel, and that the Gospel in its power to save will do precisely what God promises it will do.

I do agree with what you said CryptoLutheran. We are witnessing by the way we act and by the things we do. By doing this, we show that what we believe in, we do truly believe. If we acted badly, then we would be a bad witness. For instance, if I said I was a believer and then someone heard me at a moment where I was angry and swearing, they would then think that I was a hypocrite. My actions where not that of a Christian. So, your actions substantiate your faith. But your faith is not known until you speak it. I could do good deeds and be happy all the time and be the best friend of someone, but I could be from some other religion. So, we need to speak out what our faith is where possible. I understand that we cannot always speak our faith in some places, be it work or some other place, but we need to be always looking for the opportunities. Maybe invite your workmates to your house for a coffee where you can then talk to them there. Or ask them if they want to go fishing with you. Make an opportunity for the Gospel to be spoken.
If you truly love your workmate, how could you not speak to them about the condemnation that they are under. You should love them enough to look for those opportunities. It would be unloving not to do so.
So, speak out the reason for your hope when possible. Being a witness for your faith by your acts does not tell the reason for your hope. That is only known once you have spoken it.
One other thing that I might mention is that, when you do get the opportunity to share the reason for your hope, don't just say that you are a Christian. That often does not mean much to people. See if you can tell them that you have sinned and that when you are judged, you do not want to be found guilty. This will then hopefully lead to a conversation about Jesus taking our punishment.
Last thing is that, if we are to be imitators of Christ, what did he do? Yes, he went about doing good and being kind, but he also spoke about the things of the Kingdom.
