Who else makes home made "valentines' day gifts? We don't buy "things' for valentines.

I went to the back yard and got two branches--glued/taped them together to make an eighteen inch "tree" with no leaves on it. Then I cut out about 20 hearts, and wrote words important to our marriage on them. Words like endurance, faith, God, forgiveness, love etc.... I "planted' the new tree in a mud/sand mixture and placed it in a heart decorated cup. Then taped the heart shaped paper with words on them to the branches, as though they were leaves. He cried when he saw it.

Just wondering how many others choose homemade over store bought, or just hugs and special time together.

And those who do homemade---what did you do this year?

wow these are great ideas!!

how bout baking 4 hubby ? :D

I made a fruit pizza for DH. We met for lunch and then I gave it to him. I had intended for him to take it back to work with him , but he asked me to take it back home. He said he'd rather share it with me than the guys at work. :yum:

Sorry to bump an old thread, but due to being apart, she wasn't able to give me my Valentine's gift until last night.

The first half was a basket with several kinds of candy, a little box with 12 date ideas and a writeable fridge magnet for love notes, and some Valentine's Day boxers.

The second half was a shoebox-sized box crammed full of little notes (she said there are over 300). Each has something different she loves about me. I read through 6 last night, and I want to make them last a long time, even though I feel like just reading them all right away.

Needless to say, I was pretty blown away.

That sounds wonderful.
My husband wouldn't appreciate something like this. He wouldn't even bother to read the notes, just toss them in the garbage can.
I love doing little things like that for my girls though.

Thanks.
I still do little things like that.
I will make everyone a home made easter basket.
It will be appreciated by my daughters.
And you never know.
Maybe I'll at least get a thank you out of him too.
