He's more of the reason why people have become Catholic.
I think that's dishonest, but I know better than to argue about it here. I would just say that it's clear to most people which is true and which is most often told by people who have left or in some cases have joined (because you're right, some people did join because of him, but usually for the wrong reasons).

Well, I know people who came into the Church because of what they saw Pope Francis do.

He got rid of the papal palace.
He got rid of the throne the pervious popes sat on
He refuses to wear the read shows that previous popes wore.
He moved his papal residency into same apartments that the
visiting Cardinals stay in.

Lastly, right after he was elected Pope, he had the driver stop at the hotel he stayed at, and paid his bill,
which the owner of the hotel refused to take, but he insisted.
