to paraphrase a bit of pre-diaspora scripture ...

"all [parts] are permissimble (except those detailed by TheRabbi above) but all [parts] may not be desireable" :)

Hi Everyone,

Need some help with some research work:

Is it kosher to eat the eyes and heart of the sacrificed lamb/animal?

Are there parts of the sacrificed animal (as on the night of the 1st Passover) which could not be eaten?

Thanks. :)
MODS: these kinds of questions keep popping up in the main forum rather than in the Orthodox forum.

Could it have been a mistake to have changed the name to a fellowship forum?

Maybe we were better off having it named Halakhah, so that the questions regarding kashrut, shabbat, etc., would be directed there?

Still a trainee... Anyone else want to move this up to the Orthodox Forum?

Yes....but the question is, why would anyone want to?
Yuch......

Both are exactly what I was thinking.

Entrails are what we feed our pets. We don't eat them... :sorry:

Excactly my thought.

Most Christians have no idea what the word Halakhah means - I had never heard of that word until I heard it on this forum recently - so I don't think it would help direct questions from non-messianics to there.

I should think to kasher a heart would be almost as hard as kashering a liver.

Actually, believe it or not, it is much easier to
kasher a heart than a liver.
Not that I have any desire to eat either one....:)

I'd say leave the question here. For the reason already
mentioned-some people don't know what "halachah"
means.
Also, I think this section gets more traffic and the
question is more likely to be noticed and answered
here. Maybe move it after the thread has been
around for a week or so and gotten "stale"?

Jews eat plenty of organ meats. Kishke is intestine stuffed with all kinds of "stuff". Every grill bar you walk by sell skewers of chicken hearts and livers. I personally love lamb fries(testicles sliced, breaded and deep fried).

I once had an old Moroccan man tell me that he would kill 10 arabs for a serving of lamb fries.

I actually like kishke, but generally don't eat it,
knowing what it is.
I once had a patient named Kishke- it was
hard to keep a straight face during the exam.....
