Your making an argument that these are false prophecies. If God didn't send the Medes to desolate Babylon, then how is it to this day a heap of ruins from what archeologists claim was a city the size of Chicago?God`s word says that Babylon will become a heap and no one dwell there. Well, the ruins are being rebuilt, (as your link showed). That was 2020, and today there are thousands of people living in Babylon, though not rebuilt part.
Today, with renewed internal and foreign tourism and funding from the US embassy and other international donors, Babylon is coming back to life. Its still-eerie, grandiose Hussein-era palaces and guesthouses are filled with international artists invited for the Babylon festival, and thousands of Iraqis flock here every month for parties, weddings and musical boat rides along the Euphrates river.
Isaiah 13:17See, I will stir up against them the Medes,
who do not care for silver
and have no delight in gold.
18Their bows will strike down the young men;
they will have no mercy on infants,
nor will they look with compassion on children.
19Babylon, the jewel of kingdoms,
the pride and glory of the Babylonians,
will be overthrown by God
like Sodom and Gomorrah.
20She will never be inhabited
or lived in through all generations;
there no nomads will pitch their tents,
there no shepherds will rest their flocks.
Jeremiah 51:
28Prepare the nations for battle against her—
the kings of the Medes,
their governors and all their officials,
and all the lands they rule.
29The earth quakes and writhes
because the LORD’s intentions against Babylon stand:
to make the land of Babylon a desolation,
without inhabitant.
