We are reading Paradise Lost in my English class and some fellow students and I have been having some interesting discussions. Has anyone ever read P.L. and how do you effectively show someone that the Bible is what is accurate and the P.L. must be taken as literary interpretation? For example, they use P.L. to blame women and say that they are evil. Oh, and does anyone know if Eve told Adam that the fruit was in fact the forbidden fruit?

Thanks for any input you could give me.

I haven`t read P.L but I coming with my input anyway

Genesis 2:15 -17 God told Adam that this tree they shouldn`t eat.In Genesis 3: 6 that Adam was with her when she was beside that tree

If you see in Roman 5:12, 15 etc Here it said something that Adam was that was the sinner part because of him come the death in the world.Nothing about Eve
1 Timothy 2:14 here it say that Eve was seduced but not Adam. That are worse then be seduced isn`t it?special what it say in verse 13 Adam was created first that`s mean older and wiser. He have all his knowledge from God direct

Can you see how I think? What do you think about this thought

Quite simply, John Milton was not an inspired Scripture writer. Paradise Lost is great reading, I recommend it. But it's not the Bible, nor does it claim to be. Anyone who can't grasp this has some serious problems. It'd be a lot like reading Shakespeare's Julius Caesar and taking it for real history.
