Y'know, I don't usually support revolutions because I think they're too radical. But I think I can get on board with a ...

The Protest - Noise Revolution (2018)
[...of course it's a Christian band! Whatever would make you think it's not? :dontcare:]

" It's supernatural, unexplainable
I won't fight it, won't fight it
I don't know what it is
Almost dangerous
Like a riot, a riot
Screaming inside
It's coming alive again
No place to hide, so let it begin

Tonight unite
Everybody turn it up
We rise, we fight
No we're never giving up
We rock, never stop till the party's in motion
We are, we are
The noise revolution

It' waking up the dead
Bringing life again
Can you hear it?
It's coming
Infected by a roar that leaves us wanting more
Feel the fire its growing
We're on the move
Tearing the walls down
Swallow the truth and follow the sound

Tonight unite
Everybody turn it up
We rise, we fight
No we're never giving up
We rock, never stop till the party's in motion
We are, we are
The noise… "

Chalk one up for the creativity of Lenny Kravitz. Unlike a lot of songs I post, this one by Lenny is new to me, but I think he really captures the general 'feel' of my approach to the Christian faith; I love this video's reference to the movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey! For me, this envisioning is definitely reflective of how I conceptualize my faith in Christ: as an Oddysey toward a fuller, Cosmic Reality! (However, just to be clear, I mean this in more biblical terms and not "New Age" terms ...) What a great song and vid!

Lenny Kravitz - BELIEVE (1993)

" I am you and you are me
Why's that such a mystery?
If you want it you got to believe
Who are we?
We're who we are
Riding on this great big star
We've got to stand up if we're gonna be free yeah

If you want it you got it
You just got to believe
Believe in yourself
'Cause it's all just a game
We just want to be loved

The Son of God is in our face
Offering us eternal grace
If you want it you've got to believe
'Cause being free is just a state of mind

We'll one day leave this all behind
Just put your faith in God
And one day you'll see it
If you want it you got it

You just got to believe
Believe in yourself
'Cause it's all just a game
We just want to be loved

The future's in our present hands
Let's reach right in
Let's understand

If you want it you've got to believe yeah
If you want it you got it
You just got to believe
Believe in yourself yeah
'Cause it's all just a game
We just want to be loved ... "

Does anyone ever wonder why I don't talk about guns and revolution? Well..........despite my fire and verve in all things philosophical and social, at the heart of it here's why!

What a quasi-apocaplytic plate we all seem to be eating from this year, 2020. Does this year give us any "clearer vision" on what the world's about or as to what our world should be? How about what our world could be..... "tomorrow"? No one of course knows, but there's been more than a few folks, and folk singers, who have taken a stab at providing an answer ...

And if you're in a really, really, really, really bad mood, a dark emotional stupor even, then chill out even more with this innovative adaptation of Johnny Nash's 1972 classic hit ...

Grace VanderWaal - Clearly (2018)

... I tell 'ya! I feel so much better after watching and listening to a little 'Grace' that I not only jumped up and ran around the front lawn, but I even put my cherry red lip-stick away ... ** ahem **

It feels so GOOD to see "clearly" now ... like 2020 clearly !

Yeah, I thought so, too! But I still love the original Johnny Nash song. Maybe because it's one of those from my early days of rock'n roll'n in a car seat. Althought I don't remember it as if it was yesterday, I do vaguely recall various musical tunes jostling in my little Gen X baby brain. So, in remembrance of that, and in spite of all of the turmoil that's going on today, I propose a kind of encore ...

Johnny Nash - I Can See Clearly Now (1972)

Oh, I luv it! :piripi::papapa:... so soothing.

Y'know, it's strange. Even before I became a Christian in 1986, the notion of having a love that keeps running in the face of hardship somehow always played on my mind. For the life of me, I can't figure out why I felt that I just had to give ... :dontcare:

Led Zeppelin - All Of My Love (1979)

... oh, but maybe I do.

[Just a side note: sources indicate that this song is about a father who lost a son ...]

IMO the all time best song for the most amount of cool one liner lyrics.

I've never heard this song, but it does have a groove that's undeniable! I particularly appreciate the one-liner lyric that's sprinkled in the song: "Ever wonder if it's all for you? ... " That's a cool lyric. I suppose if I were a solipsist, I probably would wonder this. ;)

Are you kidding me, I actually had a comment about that refrain and solipsism, I closed my browser before posting it, then just posted it without the solipsism comment lol.

Well.................I guess two great minds think alike? OR .... maybe it's not a coincidence, even though I really didn't see a word of what you just referred to and then lost after closing your browser. Stranger things have happened I've heard.

It depends on who you ask. According to some I’m a great composer of word salads lol. Ok let me find a song that at least very loosely matches that theme, take caution in those debate threads, it’s a Danger Zone!

I'm actually back to Barbarism Starts At Home- The Smiths. Coincidentally, after reading an article about a director of a medical institute who complains: 'Moody behaviour is medicalised too often..and too quickly put in pharmaceutical brackets, people need to realise that being sad and somber is simply a bitter part of life.'
