Capone was convicted of tax evasion, and died of complications of an STD. So not a completely invalid comparison, but not the issue we're discussing on this thread.
It was a joke bro. Along with the espionage couple, there's the Al Capone and John Gotti comparisons. All in the hopes Trump won't be able to pull a Grover Cleveland.

And a rather appropriate one, given the person and the event. And I suppose the frantic efforts in Mar-a-Lago, to find the snitch makes it even more appropriate. Well done.

Well, Grover was in much better cognitive and physical shape for his second run.

Going by who's currently the president, being in poor cognitive and physical shape seems to be preferred.

I take some comfort in that Biden managed to so easily outsmart Trump in the debates. It was no small part of the reason Americans watched and chose Biden over Trump. And of course, Biden is still physically active, which is an important part of maintaining mental acuity. Mrs. B. and I put in about ten miles biking about 4 times week for that reason. And it certainly does help.

I think Biden appears neurologically frail both physically and mentally, in a way that's common for some men his age, especially ones who have had brain surgeries. I think the same was true of Reagan as well despite him also displaying verily. His body was in good condition, but his mind wasn't. Especially towards the end of his presidency at 78.

I notice he outmaneuvered McConnell on the health, tax, and climate bill, a key part of his agenda. Granted, McConnell isn't as sharp as he used to be, but you can add him to the growing list of people who underestimated Biden.

Riding a bike isn't just a good cardiovascular workout; it keeps your mind sharp.
The effect of cycling on cognitive function and well-being in older adults
It has been demonstrated that, on their own, both exercise and stimulation from the environment can improve cognitive function and well-being in older adults. The combined effect of exercising in the outdoor environment on psychological function is less well studied. The aim of the current study was to investigate the effect of an outdoor cycling intervention on cognitive function and mental health and well-being in older adults. A total of 100 older adults took part in the study (aged 50–83), 26 of which were non-cycling controls, 36 were conventional pedal cyclists and 38 were participants using an e-bike (a bike fitted with an electric motor to provide assistance with pedaling), as part of a larger project (www.cycleboom.org). Participants took part in the study for an eight-week period, with cycling participants required to cycle at least three times a week for thirty minutes in duration for each cycle ride. Cognitive function and well-being were measured before and after the intervention period. For executive function, namely inhibition (the Stroop task) and updating (Letter Updating Task), both cycling groups improved in accuracy after the intervention compared to non-cycling control participants. E-bike participants also improved in processing speed (reaction times in go trials of the Stop-It task) after the intervention compared to non-cycling control participants. Finally, e-bike participants improved in their mental health score after the intervention compared to non-cycling controls as measured by the SF-36. This suggests that there may be an impact of exercising in the environment on executive function and mental health.

Apparently, riding in golf carts or throwing plates of ketchup at walls do not offer the same benefits.

That's true I'm sure but not in all cases. My aunt who was a couple of years younger than my mom and was an avid bicycle rider, developed dementia in her 70s. Whereas my mom who was very sedentary and in terrible shape, was sharp as a tack up to the end.

As God says in Ecclesiastes, the race is not always to the swift or the battle to the strong nor food to the wise or wealth to the brilliant. But that's where the smart money is. Time and chance happen to them all, but chance seems to favor guys like Biden over guys like Trump.

For every guy like Trump, there's ten guys like Musk or Gates.

Is it possible for you to objectively assess Biden as is by himself, without Trump in the picture?

I'm not even sure why we're discussing Biden in this thread, unless he had something to do with Mar-A-Lago.

You have to be able to stay on the bicycle.

Yeah, I fell once about a year ago. Happens sometimes. Used to fall a lot when I was a kid because I was kind of reckless. As the video showed, Biden fell after he stopped and got his foot against a pedal. I've seen that happen to other bikers, too.

We can be sure that won't ever happen to Trump, because he lacks the cognitive and motor skills to ride a bicycle. It's not remarkable that Biden can ride into his 70s; I do, and I know others who do, too. But all of them are in pretty good physical and mental condition. They don't ride bikes because they are in good shape; they are in good shape because they ride bikes.

It's why Biden can bicycle and Trump can't.
I'm not getting why that's supposed to be some kind of major achievement. If he was mountain biking or doing something like Tour de France, that would be impressive. Slowly cruising around is only impressive when a five year old does it without training wheels.

It's not, really. A person of at least normal cognitive and physical condition can do it. The point is, Trump can't. And Biden does.
