anyone help me interpret this dream? I dreamnt of a baby pig that was my pet and then literally today I was in the hospital for my appointment and a lady was standing next to me holding a baby pig...blackish in color...kinda weird.

Psychological Meaning: A pig may symbolise ignorance, filthiness, uncleanness,
stubbornness, greed or just plain bad manners.

Our minds will use symbols or images in our dreams to replay events
or experiences we have had during our waking moments.

It is strange that you seen a pig soon after your dream.
If you hadn't had the dream would you have thought much of the pig?
Perhaps it is just a coincidence.

I realilze we don't see pigs everyday but what if you dreamed about a cat or a dog,
would you be suprised to see one the next day?

What do you think the pig means?
Think about your situations and experiences and perhaps you
will see that the dream was just you replaying something in your life.

It is a strange phenomena. When I was in college, I had a nightmare that involved cannibalism. That day, a small group of us met with our professor in his office to discuss an assignment. He tossed me a cylindrical wooden prong thing from off his desk and told me it was a cannibal fork from his native country, Samoa. I was not only shocked about the fork, but that he tossed it to me out of the 4 or 5 other people in the room.

There are strange things that happen in the spirit realm that I believe we tap into once in a blue moon that are above our present understanding. I wouldn't sweat it, though. Unless it's happening all the time, I don't believe it's a demonic thing. The spirit has abilities that go beyond the boundaries of the flesh. Think of it as a random glitch. Makes for a great story for the dinner table though.

What was the pig at the hospital for?
Is this an ESA animal?

*What could it mean?
Pray and ask the Lord if He is showing you something
relating to ministry? Like using an ESA animal to help
you make connections with folks who are in the hospital or nursing homes--
you could talk to folks and share the Good News of the Gospel etc?

This is my own opinion, I could be wrong. The pig has no spiritual meaning. It did, however, prompt you to wonder which lead you to share that you're struggling. So we now know to pray for and support you in any way we can. I think that's what the pig means.

You know what your are doing is wrong so your mind wrapped it all up
and put all your bad habits into the form of a pig.

Father, in the name of Jesus
I ask that you would strengthen my brother and take away the desire
to drink and to enter into the old party lifestyle.

Father, renew his mind and give him a renewed desire to seek your
will and purpose for his life.

Bring him into your blessings and let him see Your hand in his life
for good so that he can trust in you all the more.
In Jesus name I pray

The pig represents filthy habits, and the fact that it was your pet in the dream suggests that you enjoy partaking in them. They are pet habits or attachments that you derive pleasure from. Seeing a black pig the next day(?) seems to be a confirmation to drive the importance of the dream home.

There are two motivations for change: fear and love. Love is preferable, but fear is sometimes necessary. Try to let the love of God lift you out of whatever binds you. But if that is not enough, also consider the consequences of continuing in the wrong direction.

I think it is good that you're going to make some changes in your life. However, I wonder if the pig wasn't a therapy animal there to visit people in the hospital. I used to take a dog that I had to visit people in nursing homes and cheer them up. I was depressed many years ago and going out to volunteer was one of the first things to help lift me out of it.

I will agree with you, that it was weird.

Pigs are not necessarily filthy symbols. The woman in real life treasured her pig, and considered it a family member. Maybe that is something to look at -- the dichotomy.

Pigs are smart animals, relate well to humans, can behave well enough for people to keep them as pets. Still, we put them in their place. They need the mud to keep their skin healthy... they eat things off the ground... they eat anything.

They also have potential as agricultural product, so people buy and raise them. Some grow quickly from a tiny piglet to a 1-ton giant.

Reflect on people that you might treat poorly, or think of with disdain who deserve more respect. Also think about things that are useful but not necessarily worth showing off... and things that grow grossly enormous when they start out cute. Put it in the context of your dream.

Is there someone or something that seems to belong outdoors -- more in the public, open, or commerce realm -- than inside your private space? It could be a simple as a person from work calling you at home. The woman at the hospital seemed to do an inappropriate thing, but in a good-hearted way. There might be a legalism or block in your head, where you think something isn't staying in "proper" limits.

Pigs are not necessarily filthy symbols.

I have to agree with this. In fact, in my dreams my old dog always represents my heart, whereas usually I interpret pets as an attachment of the flesh. I can't say my interpretation was of the Lord, only that I interpreted the symbols. And I may have been wrong.

Nate, I would consider what feelings the dream left you with, then and now. If there was negativity toward the pig or not may be the defining clue on how to interpret it.
