Ok I need ur opinion on this I've been a Christian for my whole life and I've been lazy lately I haven't been reading the bible lately and I've felt my self getting distant from god. I made a promise I would never give up on him. And I'm keeping that promise . I have a gf who believes in god but doesn't believe he made earth or anything for that matter. Do you think I had the dream becuz I've gotten distant from god ? In the dream I got chased by a snake I tried to hit it with a sword I don't know where it came from but I tried and failed and I felt the pain of its bite. Which normally doesn't happen in a dream. I eventually threw it and ran to another room and locked myself in.

The sword represents the Word of God. Matthew 10:34 "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." As we know Jesus is the Word made flesh.
Matthew "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
Proverbs 18:21 "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit"
Mark 4:24 "Be careful of what you are hearing [listen + do]. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowlege] that comes back to you -- and more will be given to you who hear.
Meditating (pondering and thinking) on the Word is crucial to have firmly planted roots and bring forth it’s fruit, to prosper and come to maturity. The amount of thoughts and study you devote to the meditation to the Word will determine the amount of virtue and knowledge that will come back to you. Another way of saying this is that a person will get out of the word what he is willing to put into it.
So yes, go back to your studies! Your words is you weapon along with prayer. Your sword will be less effective if you do not know how to use it? And it will also be less effective if you only have pieces of it [of the word/bible]"
PS: Never throw away your sword.
You mentioned you had a girlfriend ... What type of company is she giving you ? The people you choose to 'hang around with' is actually very important. If you stay around evil minded people that are discouraging... You won't be lifted up by their 'energy'...

I had a dream I was possessed and I went into this building people where were working and the only way I kept myself from hurting them was destroying things and all of these people went out in one exit and while the exit door was open there was a very bright light that was just outside the door and I dropped on my knees and prayed the more I prayed the lights above me and around me shut off instantly and soon after the light outside was gone just as quick and I was in pitch black praying and the dream ended
to get out of this is that don't focus too much on dreams there will be dreams with alot of symbolism
but if the dream is recurring then something might be up

Dreams more often than not are just bursts of images hidden away in the subconscious. The snake could just be something you're afraid of and the sword is your default image of a weapon. God only rarely speaks to us in dreams and even though He does He forbids the spiritualist interpretation of them (essentially making something out of nothing through Pagan means) in His regulations against Divination. The Christian will know for certain if a dream is from God I think. Otherwise I'd pay no mind.
I wouldn't throw away Daydream Island's post either though, if ever God would cause such a dream, that'd definitely be a good interpretation.
