Yes. She does have a great job, and we are all so proud of her. I have already shot off a message to her, and will let you know what she says. If anybody would know what is going on volcanically, I would think she would. Mt. St. Helens was a powerful one. We lived only about 30 miles from there at that time. We watched the grey snow flakes come down and coat the surfaces of everything outside. It was very strange and surreal.

I found on my own this site that tells you which ones are new and active. Three of them are newly active. Nothing about Germany's. Volcanoes information monitoring page on HEWS

Yes, I watched part of Dantes Peak too and I was amazed at the effect on the lake and the fish being so acidic. Oh, that boat scene was horrible!

Humblewatchman, I remember the Mt. St. Helens eruption..we got ash all the way into Northern California I heard. I did not actually see it. They were selling bottles of it.. I thought that was odd. lol

Heard back from my niece who is a vulcanologist this morning, and she said that right now it is very quiet world wide compared to what is normally going on. She said regarding the super volcanoes in the USA (like Mt. Hood, ST Helens, MT Ranier, Yellowstone) that they are monitored so closely that if they so much as hiccup we would know about it. She also said the volcanic monitoring and distribution of information pertaining to volcanoes outside of the USA, "is relatively poor", so those people would have less warning if one were to unleash.

I was traveling once outside the US, and a tour guide told us we were standing on a long-extinct volcano. I looked it up later and it was not on the maps. Visible, warm sulfurous air was coming out of an opening. We got an "Aw, that's nothing" response.

It seems like imaging equipment could pick that up from satellite data.

Interesting how that video ties in with Jewish dates and scriptures. (Coincidentally, someone was telling me this week about some of the earlier historic dates.)

One thing that has been on my mind this week in prayer, has been the feeling of support or lack of support that citizens get from their leaders. In totalitarian regimes, people become dependent but there is always evidence that they can't fully trust that dependence. So then there is bitterness and spite, or despair.

It is hard for a people to sustain a country when they don't believe it will be sustained. What they put into it will not always be respected or valued, or preserved. There is heartache, and I think that God grieves over nations where the people are used, manipulated, dehumanized, devalued, and tortured.

That might seem to have nothing to do with clouds passing over, but when people speak of foreign influence casting a shadow over their land, they fear the difference in regimes. They fear that lack of voice, lack of respect, and inability to trust the new influence.

Of course there is also the fear that darkness overshadows so high up that they can't touch it, with clouds so vaporous that they can disperse or pour down unexpectedly. There's no control over the situation, when clouds come.

This is true on any scale -- God delivers the individual and the nation, when they call upon Him in repentance.
