Trump and Musk should start buying windmills so Democrats lose interest in those too

We aren't boycotting all electric cars, just ones that enrich authoritarian clowns.

And vandalizing. That's important to keep everyone else from buying them. People need to be afraid of what happens to their "swasticar" and or themselves if they drive those things.

Well, these people are the victims of a sloppy bloated wasteful unaccountable government. That had a bunch of unnecessary departments and projects that need extra staff. And unfortunately those people got those jobs. Put another way, they were given jobs that should never been available. They were hired as the 15th person of a 12 person crew. If Mark Kelly is complaining about his own staff being cut, that means he had too many people on his staff, which isn't Musk's fault. That was someone else's doing. They never should have been hired in the first place.

Kelly stated he had "veterans in his office" who had been fired from other agencies...veterans with good reviews and were fired by some tech geek making decisions based on their title or some other arbitrary decision. They were not fired "for cause" nor their performance.

Musk is an unpaid consultant, does he really work in the White House?
Musk is, per the White House, a "Special Government Employee" working for the executive, i.e. "The White House".

Nevertheless if it hadn't been for a sloppy bloated wasteful unaccountable government, there wouldn't have been any need for DOGE. But I suppose there are those who would rather see America become bankrupt, than have anything associated with the Trump admin keeping that from happening.

The only downside is he can't become our next President. But at least he can keep helping out President Vance. I wonder what Musk's net worth will be in 2028. Probably at least over $500 Billion.

It's wasteful to dismiss well-performing employees -whether it's in the public or private sector. At some point, you are going to need a government service - a service that will be delivered in a sub-par fashion, or not at all, thanks to the arbitrary cuts DOGE is making across federal agencies.

It is well reported (and not denied) that Musk has an office (a fancy and spacious one at that) in the White House complex. (Specifically the old "Secretary of War suite" in the EEOB which is adjacent to the West Wing and connected to it by secure tunnel.)

That's doubtful. Once what all we don't really need has been eliminated, there will be plenty of savings to well finance what we do need. That's why DOGE exists. It doesn't exist because of this that and the other paranoid plot and conspiracy theory. It doesn't exist to make poor people suffer and die. It exists to create a more prosperous America for all of us. Above all things, Trump wants bragging rights. And that's what he wants to brag about. That's what he wants as his legacy, to be considered the greatest US President ever. That's his actual goal.

Why is that supposed to be a big deal? Musk could have the biggest most luxurious office ever created built. As a matter of fact he could have a lot of them built all over the world. He's a $100 billion dollars richer than the second richest person in America. The idea that he's doing this for stuff is absolutely ridiculous. The good thing about him being the most successful wealthiest person on earth by a long shot, is he obviously isn't doing this to fill his pocketbook and he obviously certainly can't be bribed or bought. He's just simply doing this as project to fix America.

You've drunk the cool aid. J.D. Vance's intellectual mentor and acquaintance of Elon Musk, Curtis Yarvin, has written he'ld be quite pleased if the poor were turned into biodiesel, as he consideres the poor parasites.

I have always wanted to buy a Telsa but never pulled the trigger for one reason or another.

Now I am glad I never did. I will look at a brand that has never let me down when buying a new car, even if it is electric or a hybrid.
On the other hand, Hertz is selling off its fleet of Teslas so you could probably get a bargain if you don't mind the baggage associated.

No, but they can see that the actions of the CEO have pretty much tanked their domestic sales, their European sales (for those models that are actually legal for road use) and probably the Chinese sales too.
Things are also looking bad in Australia and New Zealand....

The financial markets aren't quite that divorced from reality and a manufacturer that can't actually sell its products won't stay in business that long

Oddly, the last numbers I saw, Tesla sales in the US haven't decreased by much, though the last numbers we have are from last year (Tesla does not release quarterly sales figures). Having said that, based on registration numbers, Tesla has lost about 11% of their US sales from last year.

The issue is, overseas Tesla sales are down in many countries by 50% or more. Germany, for example, EV sales were up 30% but Tesla sales were down 70%. In Australia also, Tesla sales were down by 70%. In China they've been down by about 50%, despite Tesla manufacturing those cars in China.

It will be interesting to see how Tesla does in the US in 2025, particularly since they have an updated Model Y that just released.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think it'll suffer in Europe because people are afraid it'll have satnav that only takes you to Poland.
