• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I've been extremely depressed about this and I have been trying to find verses as to what the answer is. In the new testament, since old testament is not helpful in that regard at all.

Does God see rape victims as virgin? Please explain below...

Have you heard of Joyce Meyer? She was sexually abused by her father as a child, yet God spoke to her and comforted her, she went on to be a great speaker of God's word, she preaches the love of God and power of the Bible as God's holy word that solves our problems.

God has deep love and compassion for rape victims. They are his little girls whom he loves and comforts, nobody has the right to violate a woman or girl like that, the old testament is very crude and unfeeling when it comes to women being violated, but the new testament has a lot of love, compassion hope, faith and joy, Jesus Christ loves women very much. He went out of his way to talk to the Samaritan woman at the well. He saved Mary Magdalene from 7 demons, and forgave the woman caught in adultery. His mother Mary is esteemed throughout the Christian world.

As for rape victims being 'virgins' it does not matter if they were before they were raped, no one deserves something like that, if they were virgins and it was robbed from her by rape, that man will pay for it severely.

You probably would be better off with a question of Yes, No, probably not, probably so. No one really knows. I would say probably so. Simply because before Jesus' righteousness it is very easy to become defiled.

Remember. Defield is a very big term. The High Priest himself could only go into the Holy of Holies once a year.

Defiled is not the end state. It can easily become a past state. So it is not the most important thing.

What you do with having been raped, how you handle it, and if you include Jesus in your healing is what is important. In all practical matters, there needs to be little concern about the loss of virginity due to rape.

If you are born from above, Jesus has already forgiven you for past, current, and future sins.
You of course we are always best off asking for forgiveness for any sins. But in case of rape, you need to hear that in the least of terms. I very much am against the victim being blamed for sin. Especially in traumatic, abusive, violent, and sexual pain. And especially when the circumstances are unknown. But you are never defiled by what someone else does to you. You are only defiled by what you do to yourself.

Jesus loves you. You do not need to be concerned about lost virginity due to rape. Not if you are born again. David was a murderer, so was Moses. Its your current state. And you cannot lose your salvation once gained.

Peace and Blessings!

Further truth.

A 5-year-old child who is sexually abused by an adult has no responsibility in the matter.
Some will teach there is responsibility because they do not know how to properly speak about, discuss, and meet the victim in their pain and trauma and want to 'fix' things. And frankly, some well-known ''christians' will do that and it is wrong.

Additionally, when we are, as Children of God, standing before Jesus to be judged, we will not be judged based upon sin or what others did to us. We will be judged based on our works and whether they were done in His name, or ours.

As a Child of God, Jesus will see you WHITE AS SNOW! So it is not even a question of being a Virgin or not.
Your standing before God, as a Child of God, makes you White as Snow.
Virginity and what others have done against you is immaterial and cannot impact or change that.

Peace and Blessings

I believe the problem is posed from the wrong point of view. That is, physically the victim of rape is no longer a virgin, this is beyond doubt. Emotionally she probably isn't, as she has experienced the sexual sensation of having the rapist inside her. But spiritually she is, and that's the important thing. I'm no theology expert, but we know that without intention there is no sexual sin. If someone is forced, her soul remains pure, and she can certainly trust that her future husband still regards her as if she were a virgin.
