I ask this question because if God was before any creation how did he spend his time or what ever it is he passes moments by.

Before creation there was no time, no moments to pass.

God's activity in time is only meaningful for us who experience time. God is before and after all things, without distinction.

So what was he doing

"In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth." - Genesis 1:1

"But Jesus answered them, 'My Father is working until now, and I am working.'" - John 5:17

"But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations." - Jeremiah 1:5

Scripture is replete with descriptions of what God has done, is doing, and will do. What God has done, is doing, and will do--of course--being from our perspective. The same God who created all things is the same who is at the consummation of all things, God isn't waiting, God is present both at the beginning and at the end equally and at the same "time".

That is a good question about whether or not God gets bored. I believe God created the universe to evolve out of a state of unconsciousness into self-consciousness. God needs the universe, because he is enriched by his perception of the beauty in it. If there was n creative, yes God would get bored, sitting around all day, looking at the bare emptiness of his or her existence. God does not get bored, since he is continually creative, always ushering in new creative possibilities

If E = mc2 we can divide and conclude that

m (mass) = E/c2 (Energy)

And there are three varieties...

1. Natural - Mass - Encapsulated E/c2
2. Intellectual - Our brains can enlighten!
3. Spiritual - E (Energy, warmth, love, motivation) / c2 (Faith, hope, charity, joy, etc)

I would say that before the big bang that the E/c2 that, as three is a number of harmony, there were three groups of angels...

1. Michael - And his third of strong angels
2. Gabriel - And his third of wise angels
3. Lucifer - And his third of worshiping angels

As Lucifer means light bearer so he and his angels illuminated the throne of God the Father and I suppose led the worship and much of the proceedings.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God... - Isaiah 14:12-13
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth... - Revelation 12:4

It appears that this universe was created in response to Lucifer's rebellion. As the universe is vast shows the energy and light of God the Father himself. In that Lucifer and his angels battles humanity hard over their vacated positions shows the gloriousness of their former estate. Very soon God is going to change the form of the universe one last time...

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. - 2 Peter 3:10

The mass of the entire universe will turn to plasma E/c2 and return to God the Father where he will use it to build another universe. As there is much mass in the universe leaves the Lord God with much possibilities.

The intelligence, power, energy, light, and spirituality of god is immense. There is too much going on for him to be board! Not only that but there is a great deal of cause and effect that occurs in reality. Chemistry, Physics, anatomy, are all realities that had to be well thought out for planet earth to become a reality. God also has an eternity of things past and an eternity of things future that goes through his mind... Too much going on for God the Father to be board!

Trying to think of God in human terms is futile.

Bingo..

Heck we humans we'll probably reach a point where we'll be able to eradicate the state of boredom. I'm sure an all powerful God can avoid it..

I ask this question because if God was before any creation, how did he spend his time or what ever it is he passes moments by.
I would venture to guess drawing up blueprints for the adornment of the universe....

Hebrews 11:
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.
10 for he was looking for the City which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
1 Corin 3:10
According to the grace of the God being given to me as a wise architect a foundation I lay, another yet is building upon it.
Yet, let each one be heeding! how he is building upon it.

Ephesians 2:
21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord,

22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

In the Baha'i view God has always been creating...the process has been ongoing and will continue..He is the Creator.

Consequently just as the reality of divinity never had a beginning, -- that is, God has ever been a creator, God has ever been a provider, God has ever been a quickener, God has ever been a bestower, -- so there never has been a time when the attributes of God have not had expression.

(Abdu'l-Baha, Foundations of World Unity, p. 107)

The Creator always had a creation; the rays have always shone and gleamed from the reality of the sun, for without the rays the sun would be opaque darkness.

So in your opinion what is the purpose for his creating

Baha'is recite a prayer that goes in part like this

"Thou has created me to know and to worship Thee..."

and what we call a "Hidden Word" that goes:

"O SON OF MAN!
I loved thy creation, hence I created thee. Wherefore, do thou love Me, that I may name thy name and fill thy soul with the spirit of life."

(Baha'u'llah, The Arabic Hidden Words)

He has a lot of us to take care about. He probably reads millions of spiritual mail every day.

Being created "in god's likeness " clashes with omniscience, omnipotence and pretty much any other divine trait. Each of these is a total game-changer, and any entity possessing even ONE of these would be fundamentally different from homo sapiens.

The Bible states that humanity was created in the image of God, but what does it mean to be created in the image of God?

Clearly, we are not created in the physical image of God, because Judaism steadfastly maintains that God is incorporeal and has no physical appearance. Maimonides points out that the Hebrew words translated as "image" and "likeness" in Genesis 1,27 do not refer to the physical form of a thing. The word for "image" in Genesis 1,27 is "tzelem", which refers to the nature or essence of a thing, as in Psalms 73,20, "you will despise their image (tzel'mam)". You despise a person's nature and not a person's physical appearance. The word for physical form, Maimonides explains, is "to'ar", as in Genesis 39,6, "and Joseph was beautiful of form (to'ar) and fair to look upon". Similarly, the word used for "likeness" is "demut", which is used to indicate a simile, not identity of form. For example, "He is like (dimyono) a lion" in Psalms 17,12 refers not to similar appearance, but to similar nature.

What is it in our nature that is God-like? Rashi explains that we are like God in that we have the ability to understand and discern. Maimonides elaborates that by using our intellect, we are able to perceive things without the use of our physical senses, an ability that makes us like God, who perceives without having physical senses.

As you can see, we don't view it the way some other do.

I want to know if God was bored and had time or what ever you want to call on his hands and decided to create something. Many believe it was Angels. What ever it was why did he create in the first place? Was he incomplete or needed to possess things since many believe there was nothing but God.
