Not being a methodidst but as a Baptist I believe you just need to know Jesus as a saviour. Baptisim is a act of obience and public confession Baptisim is just showing your believe in the faith it does no determin your relationship with God. I believe in baptism bu i do not see it as salvation. Everyone needs to know God on a heart levle and God will reach to us once for all it is not up to me to judgBaptisim is importance. but what is so important to not get caught up in chuch doctrine but pray and seek the Lord. Keep a open mind

Methodists view baptism as a sacrament, a means of grace. It is not able to save you - only one's own faith can do that. Baptism is seen as something in which God does, not something which Man does, which goes hand-in-hand with why it's considered a sacrament.

As for the remission of sins, I'd imagine that there would be referencing back to Acts 2:37-39, but I'm not going to pretend that I know the official stance there.
