Hi all,

Last night, I was hungry so I ate ramen noodles after midnight with a few cocktails. It was TECHNICALLY early Friday morning.

Did I break the fast or should I just let it go?

I don't want to be too legalistic about it.

God bless!

My advice may be harmful but if you think you broke the food fast, could you fast from "something else" as a substitute?
I only had one meal today. I think I'm good.

This feels lame but since I've been told that an anemic person doesn't have to fast from food, I did what was probably the most chinsy fast, to not use FB or Reddit for 24 hours :sigh: Still waiting for midnight. It feels cliche to fast from social media but I wasn't creative.

I’m sure God is pleased with you! Don’t be so hard on yourself! Take care!

I couldn’t fast this Lent as far as food goes.

I think I'm just not good at it either. I also don't want to need to take an anti-nausea drug in order to not feel nauseous from fasting.

You can always ask your priest, if you want.

I actually did, last year. He told me not to worry about food fasting because of anemia. Another priest, however, told me the year prior that I should try, in spite of how bad it makes me feel, but I don't remember if I told him about the anemia.

If there are health issues, you are not under any fasting obligations.
