I looked around for a topic in this forum and didn't stumble upon one and with it being one of the most popular TV shows out there right now I was curious as to why no one is talking about this yet. I love the show and I feel guilty for saying that cause I'm watching something that I don't even agree with :o but for some odd reason I can't stop watching it.:help: I was just wondering what are your guy's opinions on the show?

I like the show... but when I mentioned it to a friend of mine that attends my church they gave me that "look"... you know... the one that staunchly says, "Christians should not be watching stuff like that".

But yeah, I like it. Did you see tonight's episode? Bree's son is gay.

Yeah I saw tonights episode. It was one of the better ones that I've seen and I was a little shocked to find out that Bree's son was gay or "experimenting" around. I'm anxious to see what happens down the road with everybody cause everything is changing and secrets are being revealed. So who knows I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I am a houswife and I am offended by the Show. I don't think This kind of Show should be labeled Desparte Housewives because it will make people think that all housewives are Desprerate for sex, cheating, lying Etc. AS Christians we should be watching something to Encourage our walk with the Lord Jesus. I am not looking for a debate on this but, That's how I feel about the Show. No I don't watch this show because there are better shows to watch.

I'm a housewife too and I think the show is hilarious. I think the majority of people know that "real" life isn't like that.

The show has great writers. They foreshadow without being obvious so that later on in the show you go "oh, now I get it". I can't wait to see what happens when Bree finds out about her son. I'm sure they'll find a creative way for her to find out.

What ever happened to the MIL that got hit by a car? Still in a coma?

Gabrielle's MIL hasn't been on the show in a few episodes, so I guess we're just supposed to assume she's still in the coma, otherwise I'm sure they would have said something if she'd died or gotten out of the hospital or something...
And I hope the way Bree finds out about Andrew is not by Susan telling her... that would be so boring, especially since it's Bree!

BTW, I'm also a housewife and so NOT offended by this show...

Yes I will have to admit it...I do watch Desperate Housewives, and I'm not a housewife ;) . And I'm not ashamed to tell you I find it hilarious and cleverly written. Now I'm not a die-hard fan or anything, and when the show first premiered I thought "Chick show, not interested." HOWEVER I did start watching it after the American Family Association made a big stink about it and naturally I had to see this "abomination" for myself; because the way they made it out sounded like every character was jumping in the sack constantly. :) Of course when I actually saw the program for myself I realized it was harmless. I wonder if that's exactly what ABC intended? If so then they played the AFA like a fiddle LOL!

I wish people would take the time to check out things for themselves instead of marching in lockstep with every social reactionary.

I like the show, but i think it is starting to get a bit dull with the same old themes. It's like a soap opera, but only once a week.

Honestly this show is no worse then Friends, ETC.

I'm a SAHM and watching the show actually makes me feel better, esp. when I've had a bad day with my 2 boys (ages 2 & 4) . When I watch Lynette (I think that's the right name) with those 4 boys all I can think is "Well, I guess it could be worse." My son actually has a friend who is a twin (they're 4), they have 5-yr.-old older brother and a baby sister. I think of them every time I watch the show. Of course their mom has the patience of Job. God bless her!!

Shouldn't have come in here! You guys are SO far ahead of us (we're on episode 5 - the one where they show the widower the note, Bree rips down her son's door, and the older woman blackmails Susan with the burnt measuring cup)...

I LOOOOOOOOVE this show - although a lot of Christians poo poo it, I think it is great for showing the consequences of behaviour.

Case in point Gabrielle...

Does anyone REALLY think she's getting away with this affair? Everytime she does something with the gardener, she has to create more and more elaborate schemes to hide it, and slowly but surely, it's catching up with her (her husband suspects her, John is falling in love with her, everywhere she turns she has to do something to cover up her lies and affair).

Everywhere I turn on this show, it shows again the consequences for deviating from the 'right' thing to do. Covering up your issues, only brings more to the fore, and sends you further down that spiral of self-destruction - and I appreciate that this show, rather than most soapies, shows you that.

Plus, I love Lynette! After growing up around people who think SAHMs are either 'perfect' or 'lazy', it's good to see a woman who is TRYING CONTINUOUSLY to do the right thing, but can honestly admit she's exhausted. And I DO know children like that, who are like that due to personality - not because they have been raised in a way that encourages bad behaviour...

Every Monday night, every week... fabulous show...

Sasch

I hate the show...No offense to everyone that likes it, but I'm sorry it's just not something that I would want to watch, maybe if everyone wasn't so obsessed about it so quick and much, then maybe it wouldn't bother me as much, but it just seems that everyone is D.H.W. crazed.

So, you'd enjoy the show more if others didn't like it as much?
