"As we watch the immigration tug-of-war play out between the Trump Administration and sanctuary jurisdictions, it’s important to remember that illegal immigration was a top issue in the 2024 election. Americans support Trump’s policies.
Somewhere, a victim of crime committed by an illegal alien is crying: a child who didn’t ask to be raped, a parent who didn’t ask for their child to murdered. They didn’t choose life-altering crime victimization.
Perhaps somewhere else a family is crying because a member is being deported. The difference is, that person had a choice: to enter the U.S. through legal means, to not commit crime, or to stay home and try to make their home country better.
U.S. taxpayers have been overly generous. Illegal aliens deserve no sympathy for being sent home after breaking more laws. Shame on elected officials who protect them."

So well said.

No it wasn't. This is fear mongering with racist undertones and the Right LOVES it, plain and simple. Natural born US citizens commit more rape and murder of minors and people in general than the immigrant population by magnitudes, but don't worry! The convicted-felon-in-chief will start deporting them soon too!

...somewhere... perhaps.

I'm sorry, I don't get your point. Are these "sanctuary cities" turning US citizens over to ICE for deportation or something?

All the examples were people "arrested" not convicted. Being innocent until proven guilty, they got bailed out.
Perhaps if they knew the DOJ would follow our law and give the suspects due process, they would turn them over.
But as long as the DOJ sends potentially innocent people to Salvadoran Gulags without due process, the cities are correct.
Clean your own house, DOJ.

My middle daughter was raped by 5 US citizens that were able to hide in the open and not some sanctuary city? Why does the citizenship of criminals make such a big difference with New Republicans?

I am so sorry to hear that.
As was expressed by President Trump, if it were legal he would like to send violent criminals from our country to a foreign prison. As I conservative I can say I am against all violent crime, and believe that our justice system gives to much sympathy to the criminal rather than the victims. In the case of gang members and other hardened criminals allowed into our country by the Biden administration, it never should have been allowed to happen and keeping them here seems rather foolish if a person cares about victims.

Not the sancturary cities, but DHS seems to want to do that all by themselves.

Fortunately for the US Citizen targeted in this case, she's an immigration attorney, so she knows her rights very well.

-- A2SG, would that all those targeted did....

I'm all for sympathy for victims, but the fact remains that criminals do have rights too. Our criminal justice system is set up to prove a defendant's guilt before we punish them or send them to a gulag somewhere they can't ever get out of, even if they're there by mistake.

That's why we have due process.

Anything less is a police state.

-- A2SG, remember back when the GOP didn't like banana republics...ah, those were the days, my friend....
