When I wrote this I couldn't stop laughing for several minutes. My best friend and I write sarcastic jokes on each others page and it's like a contest to see who can get people to laugh the most with our lines, ideas, and jabs at the absurd. Occasionally I can top her, but she has this uncanny gift to get people to bust up and she's more sarcastic and cutting than me.

People need to take themselves less seriously and learn when to lighten up.

You are telling us that? Oh the irony.

Ah, NOW we're playing the 'I was only joking u guise' card ^_^

Well, at least someone laughed at your terrible jokes ^_^

No only the stiff necked humorlous PC atheist crowd. My friends and family thought it was hilarious. If you don't get sarcastic humor, sorry for you. :d you guys are too easy. Lighten up.

Not really convincing after you've been pulling the outraged act this far. ^_^

Nevermind and try again eh?

Oh yes the irony. Not only are you guys an unfriendly bunch, you also obviously can't take a joke or know when someone's trying to stir you up. I think it's personally hysterical to make jabs at the atheist PC crowd especially when they think you are just so upset with them. I told you before I don't care what you believe, you are free to believe whatever you want. The only thing I can say now is :D

We can definitely take a joke - your nephilim routine had me in stitches. Or was that not what you meant?

A billy mays routine - immediately on the tail end of a massive whinge about how rude we are? Please. Amateur hour. Needs work ^_^

Ruthie,

While I agree with you that it would be good if people could "lighten up," unfortunately, some people come from backgrounds contributing to a quite depressed, cynical, or even sardonic outlook on life. Since these people (and I was one of them at one point) come into our social lives at various entry points, such as on a Christian forum, we need to be careful about how our sarcasm or jokes might detract from our attempt to relate with these other people. I've had my own share of mistakes on this forum, and I do see the sense in Paul's admonition to Christians to avoid "course jesting."

Just something to be mindful of, although I admit I do enjoy a good turn of humor (or at least my kind of humor) from time to time.

Peace.

FYI I don't mind a joke - I'm usually cracking them.

It just really isn't convincing when the person who is the last to start cracking jokes pretends it was all a joke all along and then accuses everyone else of being humourless.*

Also helps if the jokes are, y'know, good.

I love this line, "I wasn't trying to be harsh towards you, BUT..lol like that's not a judgment call from the atheist handbook, "How to Defeat a Christian in 60 Seconds Flat" lol.

No, I seem to see a lot of people who are atheists making excuses for crappy behavior. That's what I see. Let me ask you something, what do you think is more horrifying,

When Jesus says, "love your neighbor as yourself" in a country that is working on you being allowed to get married to the one you love

or say, I don't know

how about, Iran and Sharia Law where if they even suspect you for being gay you are on the noose in less than 48 hours? If you are even that lucky to get that much time! Hmm?

Please spare me the Jesus is the most horrifying character clap trap. It's not gonna fly.

Oh, and, I'm not being "harsh towards you or anything...just trying to show you why I disagree."

Wake up Leona, don't mix the hatred from evil people with the love of Christ.

Get real Syd. Maybe you should stop being so politically correct for once and look at how you people judge Christians who disagree with you and lump them all into one category then play the armchair psychobabble game that you people in here so like to play. I call it how I see it. I do not play your ignorant politically correct games. Sorry if that pinches the sides of the atheist manifesto in here. When you allow your atheist buddies to directly insult Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace you are insulting and being rude to all Christians. Too bad your delicate politically correct senses can't handle being directly confronted with your inappropriate and unprofessional behaviors.

So what happens to condescending rude atheists on this forum who are allowed to stereotype and judge Christians? Silly me, the rules don't apply to them. Sorry, I'm really sick of getting attacked here. Go ahead and ban me. You guys are truly pathetic. And anyone who stands up for this garbage is a lying hypocrite.

How are these things meant as jokes? The thing about the atheist psychobabble or whatever is fine. But to say that we are getting to emotional and need to lighten up after all of this is completely ironic and hypocritical. If she had admitted that she overreacted and apologized I would have zero issue with this.

You know what's really funny is you guys are so sanctimonious it's extremely easy to yank your chains. Do you realize that a person can write whatever they want and make it look one way but in reality they are completely different? I worked with dangerous sex offenders and murderers for over 2 years. You learn how to "respond" in order to get them to respond as you are looking for specific deviant patterns. You can use it in other situations too to gauge how a person is going to respond to a situation. It's a great assessment technique.
Basically I wanted to know how atheists would react if I behaved a certain way towards them. I wanted to see if I could get the same pattern from atheists as I did in chat and real life. What's interesting is you are no different than fundamental Christians or Muslims, just a different breed of horse. You should try it sometimes. Pretend to be a Christian on one of your NICs and go on other threads. Pretend to believe a certain way to see how someone responds. It's very easy to do if you are trying to understand a persons pathology. It was interesting to read all the responses. Thank you.

Of course you did, of course you did.

This stuff is of course *totally convincing* when you ad hoc it after you've made a goon of yourself in-thread already.

But please, do tell me about these fundamentalist Christians and Muslims we resemble - you're telling me they ask for evidence for claims and don't automatically believe the words of a holy text straight off the bat? ^_^

So basically you were being a troll for fun.

I would not pretend to be a Christian (or any other religion) simply to make people upset for my personal amusement.

I don't I've sunk to the level that you are talking about, and honestly it does not even matter. Regardless of your motives, the end result of insulting a group of people that does not create some benefit is not right.

Do you think your god wants you to do this? To purposefully insult others for amusement? I'd like to see the scripture you're using to base this behavior on.

wow. I don't know what to say. I wouldn't go to an ex-christian website and pretend to be an ex-christian, then debate just to see how people respond.

Of course, I guess you'd have to work with sex offenders and murderers to "see" the advantages of "role playing."

wow. really? So...you like to use this social tactic on those who aren't necessarily legal offenders, who are just regular joes trying to discuss/debate on a forum? Is that a Christian thing to do?

You spoke senselessly and atheists responded appropriately. What were you trying to prove? Did you expect atheists to stay completely civil in the face of someone baiting them with rubbish? You're the one who's acted out of line here by lying and trying to manipulate other posters.

It's also possible that you're just mad that you don't have anything else to say and you haven't won or gained anyone's approval, but I'll take your word for it that you were misusing the board all along.

Every response on this board is interesting in it's own way, including your behavior and your apparent run to the fire escape.

Tells you a bit about the poster, doesn't it?

Either she is lying about what she claims she did, or she is simply employing as escape technique. Either way, everyone can make their own
judgements.

"There's enough material in there for an entire conference"

No kidding.

I have two good friends who look in on this board from time to time for kicks. One is a forensic psychologist and the other a behavioral psychologist. We grab a couple beers every once in a while and talk about CF and there take is lets say; enlightening.

I definitely tell friends about some of the stuff that I read on here and we laugh about it, but I don't misrepresent my beliefs to rile people up.
