Ya, I'd say it only takes 15 mins for most people to be comfortable being nude. I took my GF to a nudist resort in AZ for the her first time last year. After 15 mins she was comfortable.
Yup it's everyday people who go to clothing optional places. So they look just like people we see ever day. OK without their clothes on. But then we don't have clothes for us to form an opinion of who they are. So one has to talk with them to get to know them. All very healthy.

It's different for everybody -- the first time I went to the nude beach, I waited about an hour before finally taking my trunks off with a "well... this is why I came here..." and was okaywith it almost immediately afterwards.

This may be strange to most people, but I would almost always rather be completely nude, especially in nature. I'm 27 and I've been somewhat of a closet nudist for the last 10 years of my life. Theres nothing sexual about it for me, it just makes me feel happy and free. I'm never naked in front of anyone who is offended by it. It's usually just my wife and close friends who aren't bothered by nudity.

My question is, do you think there's something wrong with me? Is this sinful behavior, or do you find nothing wrong with it? Thanks.

I have an almost identical experience. I took my GF to a nudist place in AZ and she had no problem taking off her clothes immediately.

I don't think there's anything wrong with what you are doing as you describe it, but then I don't think the human body is ugly or shameful.

I love being nude also - as long as it's warm enough. Under 60°...forget it.
As long as there is no wind, my wife and I have showered outside at a nudist resort when it wasn't even 60, and then basked in the bright morning sun. Yes, 60 is about the limit!

Yes, in the end, clothes make a woman seem more sensual than complete nudity. So clothes actually end up being worse than nudity.
Then there is the fact that once you have seen a lot of woman nude in a public setting, a lot of the mystery is gone and so it doesn't have the temptation it did when the mystery was there.

I agree completely with this, I noticed this decades ago.

There is something innocent and pure about seeing other nude women.

The feeling of freedom comes from separating nudity from sex. Our society teaches that nudity is always sexual, except for bathing and medical procedures, but the fact is, nudity is not sexual unless people make it sexual. Going about your usual activities without clothes does not make the activities sexual.

And some nude or clothing-optional beaches have been closed because people have turned it into a sexual opportunity, sometimes right out in the open. A few have to ruin it for others.

I agree.

Sometimes ladies will arrive at a nude beach wearing a bikini, and they get quite a bit of attention.

But if they take it off later, they look pretty much like all the other ladies, so the attention vanishes.
Exactly! But most people won't understand this unless they experience it.

The point of nudism isn't to go and get eye candy. it is about (amongst many other things) body positivity and haven't a healthy body image, not sexualizing other people. If you are only going so that you can look at beautiful people, it is kinda shallow and objectifying the other person. Nudism is in contrast to that.
I really agree with this! A few times I've read articles criticizing and poking fun at social nudism because of all the imperfect, wrinkly bodies.

There is a freedom that comes from being nude. Swimming is particularly more pleasurable when nude, and while one has to be cautious about over-exposure (sunburn) and there is a natural limitation in the north (cold temperatures) I can say that once you remove your clothes, you are suddenly more vulnerable and honest with whomever you share space with.
Vulnerable and honest are excellent terms to describe! That's exactly how I felt decades ago.

Almost all nudists go out of their way to not offend non-nudists. Beaches where nudists gather are either well-marked to warn non-nudists, or so remote and well-hidden that virtually no one goes there unless they know about the nude use. Nudist resorts are also well-marked and shielded from public view. Nudists don't mind being seen, but they don't want to inadvertently offend anyone.

Yes! That's has always been my primary concern, offending someone else! I don't mind being seen, it's just I don't know what the other person thinks.

And darkhorse, I sent you a message on your wordpress blog.

To me being nude isn't about showing off at all. It's about being comfortable. If it's cold then I put on clothes to be comfortable.
Oh yes, comfortable both physically and emotionally.

I have attended church nude many times, at the nudist resort we frequent. Yes, it's a real Christian church service in a chapel there, conducted by a real preacher. His background is Baptist, but the service is non-denominational.
We went to a nude church service once, when we were at White Tail in southern VA. We were very very impressed! Great fundamental Bible teaching, better than we expected.

My family and I spent the last 3 days nude with about 250 other nude people, and no one showed any indication of shame. Speaking for myself, this was not due to "pretending to be above sinfulness" or a seared conscience. God has always directly brought my sins to my attention when I was ignorant of them, or thought I had found a clever "loophole", but He has never had a word to say about my being nude among people who understand and share the innocent joy of recreating and socializing without clothes.

Far be it from me to claim to be sinless, especially to God. The older I get, the more He points out my sinful errors and omissions throughout my life.
Yes, "the innocent joy of recreating and socializing without clothes." I agree completely, that's what I have discovered during my 4+ decades of being a social nudist.

I live near Boston .. used to get naked when I was young and out side of town and lay in the sun for a few minutes.
I've been actively seeking some time being nude for the last 6 years. ...
I have a 4 year degree in a AG Bible college. Have studied the Bible and related topics my whole life.
I am liberal, conservative, evangelical, fundamentalist, Pentecostal and probably a few other things,
We're in south central NH. "whole life" Christian too. Conservative, evangelical, fundamental, yep.

Yes, for some reason, most nudists at resorts are 50 or older, and many people don't get into it until around that age.

In contrast, nude beaches seem to attract a younger crowd, on average.
I'm surprised to hear this. Why do you think that is? Maybe older people can afford the cost to go to resorts?

Yeah the anti-nudes tend to live more in fear. I do not address the subject except to extremely close friends and where I can be anonymous. Yes I am also over your 50 and retired. I have no fear or need to impress people. I do respect other peoples unsupported mores because I do want to interact with them. So yes I hide to an extent.

Hey warm weather is here!!!:clap::clap::clap:

We don't share with others much due to what they might think of us because of stereotypes and ignorance, and what society has taught them about nudists and nudism.
They "live more in fear." I like that, nice way of putting it.
