Amen, you and I understand the signs of our times, and it pains me to watch it happen, remember Rom 13: 1-2. We need to trust in God in the future because the global economy is weakening, and extreme policies are being implemented. I hope the loon in government can recognise this, but I've been saying all along they are as dumb about economics as the American people.
Americans to other parts of the world in a war, famine or other stressful situation: "Normal Monday."

Americans to a bad situation in the USA: "The end of the world is coming!"

I thought what was in the bible was a global event?

Not moking people but God's word. We are not talking about debate, we are talking about getting out more where normal folks are.

Point proven. We are on a Christian forum, have you forgotten?
He's been here a decade longer than you have. And he's a Christian - so what is your point?

Nobody CARES how long anyone has been here. There's no "seniority" here.

So you admit to mocking forum members?
Personally? No. Their posts? Sometimes.
And you think that's okay?
I'll leave that for the moderators to decide.

Anyway, this end times stuff is off topic, so I'll stop responding to this line of dialogue. Feel free to get the last word in.

Took a poll, did you, or is it omniscience?
There's no "seniority" here.
It is ridiculous for recent arrivals to lecture those who've been here for decades on where they are, as if they weren't well aware.

I wonder how BRICS will affect the yuan and the dollar?

OK, I'll help you out. It all started with A Christian making his final comments about end times after a lengthy, intelligent discussion about economics
Perhaps some in South America? It is exciting though because this next could really be the end times. A great time to trust God. Thanks for sharing the video and your thoughts.
The nonbeliever mocks his belief about the end times on a Christian forum.
For reals this time, 100%. Just like the last 2000 years.
Then I quote scripture because he brought it back to my remembrance of this verse.
Thanks for making this verse come true. The longer I live, the more Truth is revealed.

2Pe 3:3 AMP
First of all, know [without any doubt] that mockers will come in the last days with their mocking, following after their own human desires

2Pe 3:4
and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming [what has become of it]? For ever since the fathers fell asleep [in death], all things have continued [exactly] as they did from the beginning of creation.”
Really? You think that people weren't joking when the people alive during the first century were claiming the end of the world was going to happen in their lifetimes, and then zilch happened?
The key word is:
Laodicean60 said:
"Yes, and the reason for that verse, I may be old, but not a couple of centuries old, and you are the first mocker I've heard mock the Lord's coming."
In that case, you should probably get out more.

You are probably right, but when I'm out, I don't usually converse with nonbelievers about the end times.

I see you are a Christian. Do you make it a habit of doing so? Is this the way you minister?
To iluvatar in context, talking about the end time to non-believers when he's out and about.

There’s plenty of well-deserved derision of end times prophecy culture to be found within the church, too. Heck, IME, most folks outside of the church have kind of forgotten about it since its heyday in the 90’s, while within the church, theologians are moving away from it and the church as a whole has started to acknowledge that a lot of the hoopla was just a mix of bad theology, bad history, and hucksterism.

Most haven't, but when the conversation comes up, it brings people to remembrance of what scripture says.

I don't base my interpretation on the above. What do you believe?
He still hasn't answered my question on what he believes about end times prophecy. I think this is where you jumped in Daisy

I didn't answer, because it doesn't really matter what I believe as it's not the topic of the thread.

That said, my attitude towards end times prophecy is that it's the "bad theology, bad history, and hucksterism" I described earlier, along with a heaping dose of laziness, immaturity, and escapism.

Seems like their problems, currency etc., may only get worse. It was inevitable. Trade first went to Japan as they utilized and perfected how to insure quality in products. Then much of it rolled over to China where US companies were lured by the large internal market while the US government thought openness would expand capitalism and enhance human rights in China. Both companies and the government were wrong. Covid helped quicken the shift away from China and now it is going full blown. There are cheaper labor sources in other places than China. Everyone knows too that they copy and debase parts of nearly every joint venture from a Western company. I imagine they will suffer perhaps even more than the Japanese who had what most call a lost decade. Sure they try to beef up their markets in other places but they are quite stressed in trying to stimulate their own economy in the midst of a trade war. USA now is looking bad because our brand is tarnished from Trump's push for tariffs and his demeaning remarks to many. How quickly the tide can turn especially when man fails to look to God as his source.
Makes it even smarter for them to stop exporting their rare earth minerals completely--to save the world from Trump tariff Armageddon. Thanks, China.

What we care about is that many Christian churches, including the one with almost 2 billion members, interpret the Apocalypse as being symbolic and allegorical.
It may be non-fundamentalist to interpret the Bible holistically, but it is certainly not non-Christian.
We respect your views as we do Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism and other faiths, but disagree.

So much. Lots have people have always wanted to bunker-down physically and spiritually.... while world has passed them by showing no actual indication of ending. And delusion hasnt helped their spiritual health either.

Ok, but you felt the need to go off topic to tell me to get out more, lol. I thought you didn't believe it because of the answer you gave, which is why the clarification. I don't care what people believe, but I do want to understand the audience.

"Get out more" was a joke. The topic of end times criticism had already been broached when I chimed in.

I apologize, but for all, let me know when it's a joke, maybe with a "lol", this way I can laugh with the rest of you.

Edit: I looked at the reaction, and some agree,d which tells me that not everyone saw it as a joke So yes and LOL might clear the confusion.
