Does anyone have any recommendations for a good Catholic magazine? I love to keep magazines in my purse to read when I need to kill some time...

Anyone ever read US Catholic? I know it's a bit on the liberal side, but is it still in compliance w/ Catholic teaching?

I had heard it (US Catholic) was one to avoid because of it's liberalness... but then again OP mentioned Roman Catholic Women Priests which is about as liberal as it gets...

A friend passed on a free copy of Catholic Faith & Family and also a few back issues of Catholic Digest... I haven't checked those out... anyone have anything to offer on those?

I don't know about other dioceases, but we have a magazine simply called "Catholic" locally. The Bishop writes most of it, a bunch of priests and random Parisheners contribute.

I'd stay away from the more conservative magazines. You don't want to be mired in stubbornness and negativity.

Latin Mass Magazine is an amazing magazine, I thoroughly enjoy it.

Wanderer is more of a weekly magazine, good stuff in there.

Yes, First Things is an excellent publication, although not exclusively Catholic. Its very academic though.

FYI, most of the publications suggested by Protinus do not reflect Catholic teaching.

Thanks for asking - I guess I should've been clearer. I was looking for something spiritual, as well as something generic that includes articles that would apply to the everyday Catholic - mostly social issues and family issues. I'm not really into the whole politics/current events thing for a magazine because I can get most of that online daily.

Wow - just checked this out... Has lots of great articles. Definitely has moved to the top of my list...
