Caillou the tv show

This seems like a cute show, what do you think? Any moral objections? I am really picky about David watching TV, but this is at a nice time to get a shower. If there is something not so good about the show let me know.

I don't like Caillou and won't let my daughter watch it. The few episodes I saw Caillou was very whiney and exhibited some behaviors that I didn't want my daughter to model. I don't remember exactly what they are right now as this was a show I vetted a year or two ago but I would advise watching an episode or two first before you made a decision on whether to let David watch it.

It's a nice 2 parent family and Dad takes a large role in raising the kids. They do a lot of different things to teach kids about being afraid of the dark, little siblings etc

He whines NON-STOP which gets really annoying really quick and nobody on the show tells him to stop because of course TV parents don't get annoyed.

The whining does bother me but it is a cute show. It's not one we watch alot but we really don't watch a lot of PBS anymore.

I also can't stand the whining. My niece started whining when she watched it so it's not on in her home anymore. I don't think I'll have it on either. I prefer other cartoons or kids movies.

The parents respond to the whining properly, but yeah, I could see how a kid would model that.

The first time I saw the show I thought perhaps he was going through kemo (the lack of hair).

Caillou whines too much. My daughter Arielle calls him "grumpy Caillou" . His whiney behaviour is contageous. After watching that show, my kids are whiney, pouty, and grumpy too. So, my kids aren't allowed to watch it.

I like how he asks to get down from the table. Why doesn't he have any hair, anyway? He seems to be a 3 or 4 year old.

I think the whining is annoying, but we do have a Caillou video. My kids don't "model" that behavior after watching it...lol, they know better.

If David likes it, and if you can stand the constant, annoying whining, I think it's fine.

Yep, he's very polite but he's whiny. He's either 4 or 5, he's just bald. His 2 year old sister Rosie has a head full of hair.

So if David doesn't copy the whining and you can stand to listen to it than I think it's a good show

Caillou means pebble in French but can also mean bald head...so I guess he won't be growing any hair
My kiddos LOVE caillou. He IS whiny but they handle all the situations that arise well AND so far my kiddo's haven't copied his whining...

He has said stupid a couple times on the show, and that is just unacceptable!

Breanna likes it (likes the voices, the giggling, the puppets). I honestly have a problem about his whiney behavior...it's not just that it's annoying, but that he gets whatever he wants. We watch it together sometimes if we're up early enough, and she and I talk about how that's not how Big Girls and Boys are supposed to talk to their parents.

That's one of my greatest objections in most kids shows--the siblings treat each other horribly- as though it is expected for siblings to fight. That's why we don;t watch Arthur--that and there was an episode that revolved around Arthur being bored ---my attitude is that if you're bored- I can put you to work. No one in our house is allowed to complain of being bored. They can say that they need help coming up with ideas of things to do....but if you're bored- you'll probably be cleaning garbage cans.

I think Caillou is fine for kids. He is extremely whiney, as everyone has said! I have talked to my son and said, "Caillou should just talk to his Mommy and tell her what's wrong instead of whining and crying."
I always wondered why he was bald, too!

He's whiney and annoying to me but my kids liked him in the past. Now they think it's a boring baby show. Just point out what are his good behavior and what are his bad to your son. Besides, it takes more than one TV show to make a child whiney.
