Jessica D. Aber, 43, worked as the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia from 2021 to 2025. Appointed by former President Joe Biden, she served in the role until resigning Jan. 20.

In a news release Saturday, the Alexandria Police Department (APD) confirmed Aber's death, reporting it received a call about an "unresponsive woman" at around 9:18 a.m. Saturday.

"As a matter of protocol, an investigation is underway surrounding the circumstances of her death," the APD said in its statement. "The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia will determine the cause and manner of death."

I thought about posting that to the Conspiracy Theory section, because conspiracy theories are already circulating about her death.

Even though it's rare, it's not impossible for somebody to die at such a young age from natural causes.

"At this time, detectives have found no evidence suggesting that her death was caused by anything other than natural causes," police said in a statement Tuesday.

Authorities continue to investigate, and police say the case will remain open until the medical examiner returns a final ruling on her manner of death. Police also urged the public to respect the privacy of Aber's family.

I don't want to entertain conspiracy theories. But...

In such a bizarro world as we live in, why not? You couldn't write fiction this good, I would have said twenty years ago...

I sometimes wonder if I haven't no-clipped through reality and landed up on Level Fun.

They're literally abducting people off the street who have used their Constitutionally protected free speech in ways which this present regime does not like, depriving them of Due Process.

We the People aren't just living in a bizarro world. We're witnessing the death of the republic. I won't claim that the Biden appointee died due to foul play, but I am firmly confident that this current regime is capable of sinking that low.

This isn't the America that my father and grandfathers risked their lives for.

The republic is dying, and a loud and vocal proportion of the Body of Christ is applauding. The Church has a moral duty to oppose this, all of this. Even if it costs us our lives. Not applaud it. I am sick and sad and angry and confused, and I am praying, and I don't know how to feel. I try to remember that in Christ the powers of this dark and fallen world are, indeed, defeated; and the assurance of victory for the oppressed and their vindication stands true in the Empty Tomb, and the Day is coming when Christ comes to judge, and God shall set all things to rights. But right now? Right now I am confused and unsure, not so much for myself, but for my neighbor. Not just my neighbor who lives here in this country, but my neighbor who lives in Canada, my neighbor who lives in Europe, my neighbors everywhere. What is this emerging dictatorship going to do to those who they deem "other"?

I'm sure Augustine had similar thoughts when he heard about the Vandals sacking Rome.
