Am I the only one who noticed a similarity in style and architecture, between these two nice styles?

Ummm... well, no, not at all. I grew up in Miami, hanging out in the Art Deco district on the Beach and I quite frankly see very little similarity between them. Architecturally they are as disparate as are Baroque and New Wave music.
Not until you said it.
But I guess you're right.
You have no idea how exited I was to see this topic, Art Deco has been an obsession of mine for the past 24 hours. I'm wearing my Art deco style crucifix now.
My new favorite artist is Tamara de Lempicka. I like how she takes traditional renascence subjects and puts an Art Deco spin on them.

I'll get my camera and post a better picture tomorrow.
Until then, good night.

Actually there seems to be parallels with the Victorian styles (not sure what that artistic movement is called) - the style which preceded Art Deco. Are you sure that's not what you mean? Cause I can't see any similarities with Art Deco and Gothic. They're quite opposite.
Noveau's the art you're after.
