I'd say it depends on the Muslim. If I polled the Muslims I knew they'd be all over the place on that.

I have a Muslim friend who would say no.
He wouldn't even celebrate Thanksgiving. He said it was a Christian holiday, and I'm like.. "it is?" Lol.

That is most probable answer. I doubt you will find any majority consensus. However, I doubt you will find any of us who would eat one if we are under the opinion it has any religious significance.
Each of us will have to answer on our own if we would or would not eat one and explain why we would or would not.
I personally would not eat one, because I connect them to the celebration of Easter, more specifically the Pagan Holiday of Eostre
Do I feel if a Muslim will go to hell because they eat a chocolate Easter Egg? No
But I do believe they are gaining blessings by not eating them. They are presenting a visible expression of belief in Islam, by avoiding that which might be seen as a false worship. I also know some Christians that avoid Easter eggs and Easter bunnies for the very same reasons.

Based upon the person's intent it could possibly be an act of shirk. But, that is between the individual and Allaah(swt) I would have no way of knowing and I doubt if anyone else would know the person's intent.
I would question the motives of anyone who called a person an Apostate for eating a chocolate Easter Egg.
Most of us are not that narrow minded.

To a Christian nothing, to a non-Christian they have become symbolic of Christianity.
Similar to how the Crescent moon has no religious meaning to Muslims but Christians have come to see it as representing Islam.

Why would Christians eat chocolate eggs on Easter, if it doesn't have any religious references to your faith? Personally, I'd eat them and find them rather delicious. It's candy, nothing more. No religious significance behind it, and if there is, Christians might want to address it because I don't remember chocolate covered eggs being mentioned in the Bible.

We really do have Pascha baskets (what you'd call Easter baskets) in some traditions in the Orthodox Church (it is minor and not done everywhere- more among Russians and not so much among Greeks- though the red eggs are). Everything is symbolic in the basket- and it is full of things we fasted from during Lent. They're blessed and we break the fast together as a parish after Divine Liturgy on Holy Pascha.

We receive dyed red eggs at church on Pascha. It's based off the tradition that St. Mary Magdalene was dining at Ceasar's court and talking about the resurrection of Christ. To which the emperor made a comment along the lines of, 'This egg has as much chance of turning red as Christ being raised from the dead,' at which point the egg he was holding turned red. So, we dye eggs for Pascha.
I suspect the commercialization of Easter sweets is simply a more modern Western thing to do. Although, it's nice to be able to buy discounted candy in time for Pascha- as Pascha and Easter rarely fall on the same day most years.
ETA: I've totally seen Muslims eating red dyed eggs and Pascha bread at my parish after Pascha. No lie. Also, I've seen video of Muslims accepting red dyed Pascha eggs at St. Catherine's Monastery in Egypt. So, while some Muslims might care, I know there are some who don't.

About as much as Eostre has to do with Pascha("Easter"). Virtually nothing.
The Paschal Celebration coincided with Eostre-monath (April), named after a supposed, but un-corroborated, Brythonic goddess named Eostre.
(I mention this specifically because earlier in the thread is made mention of a Pagan feast called "Eostre", of which there is no historical record for; rather Eostre is the name of a Brythonic goddess mentioned in passing by Bede)
Eggs are familiar elements of springtime.
Chocolate is delicious.
The Paschal Celebrations happens in springtime.
Candy is big business.
Ergo chocolate Easter eggs.

I eat candy on and around Easter because it's an excuse to be an adult and eat candy. Halloween, Christmas, and St. Valentine's Day also get those excuses.
If they made candy specifically for Speak Like a Pirate Day I'd eat some then too.
But it's completely unrelated to the religious observances of the aforementioned days.
Candy is fun.
There's nothing wrong with fun.
Fun and the holy can coexist just fine.
