Well, scripture speaks to speech often but it doesn't give us a specific definition of where the line is crossed with joking. Instead of doing what is right in someone else's eyes (as we each have a master, and each ones conscience differs) I think it's important for each to be convinced of his own lines. Here's some verses that speak to speech:

Eph 5:4 Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.

Col 3:8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

Col 4:6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

Eph 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Here's what the word "unwholesome" means, from the lexicon
1) rotten, putrefied
2) corrupted by one and no longer fit for use, worn out
3) of poor quality, bad, unfit for use, worthless

Well personally I don't think sharing Christianity needs to be a show. You can connect with people by asking how their week was. So far this seems to have worked for you, but think about whether you are sharing the power of God with them, or a story you have memorized well.

A lot of people grew up with a religious background of some sort, and even if they don't profess it as an adult, they still respect it. They get the reaction like their grandmother is going to slap their cheek, or their childhood minister will scowl at them. Underneath there's a lot more sensitivity than it looks.

But you need to decide this for yourself.

We don't need to be of the world , to reach the world.

I think certain jokes shouldn't be told, because a lot of them are meant to be offensive, but not because they're actually funny.

But you'll have to decide for yourself which jokes are appropriate and which are not. There are plenty of jokes out there which are funny, but are not considered "dirty". Why not just put a little more effort into finding those good ones?

Not saying you have to be legalistic about it, but you do need to use some common sense / appropriate judgement.

I like something my pastor says on the gospel. We should give the gospel and, when necessary, use words. The point he was making is that the way we conduct ourselves should be evidence of our walk with Jesus- being a light to the world.

true...I'm not very good on non-perverted humor, as a 14 year old I have much more knowledge of dirty stuff than clean stuff...may not be good but it happens pretty much no matter what when your in public schools nowadays

Here's what the Bible says about this stuff:

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also love you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.

But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among the saints;

and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.

For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Ephesians 5:1-5

I do it often mainly cause it's always good for putting smiles on faces, and it's one thing my friends are friends with me for ^^ hard to teach the gospel to someone who isn't a friend too. Anyways so is telling dirty jokes a sin?

Bible specifically mentioned not making dirty jokes, jests and all those things. Why would you think its ok then to do those things.
The same mouth you are using to preach the gospel to people, you use the same mouth to tell DIRTY jokes. How does that make you feel?
Im more concerned that you think its ok in your mind than anything else.
You dont sin in order to get sinners to stop sinning. You dont try to act cool in order to feel accepted. You can always preach the gospel in a natural godly way. Whoever God touches will accept what you say, but resorting to coarse and crude jokes and words because you want to get points across serves no meaning and it does not showcase who you are in christ.

If I was in the world and you came up to me to tell rude or dirty jokes, and then start to preach to me, I would seriously think you are crazy or some joke of a person. Thats me being honest.
Practice what you preach and let everything that comes out of your mouth glorify God

Be Careful what you say. If your not so sure what your about to say is not against God's commandment then you just don't say it in the first place, because there is no pleasure putting smiles in people's face and then putting Anger in God's face just because you want to make people smile.

I don't think the occasional bawdy joke is too high on God's list of transgressions...I may be a bit prejudiced as I have a rather wide ranging sense of humor.

But, in my Christian experience, I can tell you that, if you run mouth too much, one day you will feel something like a tugging on your ear, and a small voice saying 'You, with the big mouth...!' ;)

As far as Scriptural, well, the Bible is not big on jokes, but there is the story of 'Baalam's Ass'.

And, in the story of the Tower of Babel, God certainly shows He has a sense of irony, and a quick way of foiling the plans of 'mice and men'.

There are clearly defined sins, and there are actions that come under the "unwise living" category.

Many people will chuckle at one, but people who initiate one are leading a group in a direction.

Many times they can be used for good, if you can crack a couple good jokes don't you think people are more likely to listen than if you go straight to the gospel?

If you need to tell dirty jokes to get somebody to listen to your gospel, then you're preaching the wrong gospel.

How do you call somebody to repent when you still act like the unregenerate?

Perhaps you should learn more clean stuff. If you do a search for "christian humor" you will find a lot of sites that may be helpful.
