Apostles are around today.

Before we decide this, which is not open-and-shut, it's worth recalling that not all (or not many) of the personages that proclaim each other to be apostles are genuine ones, and that the world is a contingent place to be, and also reflect on my observation in post 38.

Perhaps when churches need re-founding, God will send apostles, without job titles, obscure people leading ordinary lives.

If one takes the fivefold as things all believers are called to take part in most of, not as bosses, but as co-helpers, then who knows, simple believers who supplicate a lot might be co-apostles already.

That is not an argument there are no apostles today.

Remember the famous,
or infamous, comma debate for centuries ? Since Jesus did not go to Paradise the same day, that helps better understand, for little children, but not for scholars...
The first time I read this post,
it looked briefly like , contrary to your direction revealed in this thread
that "There are no apostles today" and thus "That" is not an argument...
However, having read previously the op, your op, and a few other posts,
I realized you mean / meant/
that the post you were replying to was not an argument , not a valid argument, maybe not even pertinent, (I did not read the post you were replying to yet, btw) m
it did not help in trying to show as if (as is not the case) there are no apostles today.
Thus a "," , in English and perhaps other languages, not Hebrew ,
can change the whole meaning when the author is not asked or has not made clear his meaning.

I did a study many years ago... I am talking like 40 years ago. I found 23 probable apostles listed in the NT.

A number of years ago I read someone else's results - it was clearly shown in Scripture that there are (or may be?) 120 (now from memory so the number may be plus or minus some) messengers of Yahweh, i.e. specifically in NT "apostles"..... without any guesswork at all.
