So, I've often found that anime that appear to be safe at first glance often contain either overtly sinful content (extreme fan service and the like) or non-christian messages (such as revolting against the divine).
So, as someone who has watched a lot of anime, I thought I would compile a list of anime that I know to be safe (and that are good).
Just because it is on this list, does not mean that it is completely sinless. I would pray before watching any anime (or reading a book, or watching a movie) asking for guidance, and spiritual protection. You know your tenancies and what your temptations are.
I'll add more as I remember/watch more.

Safe for all ages:
  • Anything by Studio Ghibli
  • Azumanga Daioh
  • Aria the Animation
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender (I know it's not technically anime, it's still good!)
  • Non Non Biyori
  • Card Captor Sakura
Safe for teens and up:
  • My Hero Acadamia
  • Land of the Lusterous
  • Planetes (No that's not misspelled)
  • Charlotte
  • Chuunibyou, Love, and Other Delusions!
  • Fullmetal Alchemist
  • Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri
  • Made in Abyss (Not for the faint of heart, but very good)
  • One Punch Man
  • Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet
  • Cowboy Bebop
  • Grave of the fireflies
  • Steins;Gate
  • Haibane Renmei (Has a very Christian message about the importance forgiving yourself, Christ has taken away our guilt and shame.)

I honestly think what's safe for one person might not be for another. I'd highly advise to listen closely to the Spirit of God within us to notify us if something is alright to watch or not.

With that in mind here are some anime that God allowed me to watch:
- Sailor Moon (both old and new)
- Dragon Ball
- Escaflowne (however there were elements I did not realize until much later that were against God, please view with discretion).
- Hamtaro/Hello Kitty
- Card Captor Sakura (both old and new; elements warning here too)
- Tsubasa Chronicles

This is very true, that is pretty much the essence of Romans 14.
I have had God all but speak to me with regards to me watching something. I won't say which anime it was, but I knew I needed to be on guard while watching it. But about half-way through I had a feeling stronger than any I had known saying "This is wrong, it is dangerous, do not continue." And so I stopped watching. Looking back on what I had seen, I don't know what I was thinking, watching an anime like that.

When I was a child, I always watched Doraemon on TV and after so many years, the anime is still showing on TV. My parents also told me that they grew up watching it too.

Not so long ago, I fell in love with a kitten called Chi in Chi's Sweet Home. It is such a heart-warming series that is appealing to both children and adults, and of course cat-lovers. If you like cats, then you would love this series. :)

Here are some suggestions for safe or fairly safe anime:

Snow White With The Red Hair
Very clean, no fan-service. The central romance is one of the best I've seen in any media, it's a good model of a man and woman treating each other with honor and respect.

The Promised Neverland
Another one that steers clear of fan-service. Do be warned, this is a very tense series, with a few disturbing images. If you can handle the first episode, you'll be fine.

March Comes In Like A Lion
A gem of a series! Little objectionable content, can be heavy in a thoughtful way, but also has a good mix of humor. Some of the best character development I've found in any story.

A Silent Voice
A movie, and another that gets heavy in the thoughtful way.

Btw by "heavy in a thoughtful way" I mean the anime looks at some serious topics and themes: bullying, depression, rejection, suicide, and such.

I don't know about the other series mentioned, except for "The Promised Neverland."

Years ago when the manga series was relatively new, I wrote a review of it. Obviously back then, the anime adaptation was not out yet.

The beginning of the series had the premise of a group of children aged 12, down to infants, where they were "farmed" to be food for a group of monsters. It can be very disturbing when reading it due to the dark theme in the artwork and the basis of the story, particularly when it is involving infants and children and using them as food. In fact the place where the children were staying was named a plantation or farm and there were multiple of them. Well, I wouldn't want to go on telling the story as it may become a spoiler for those who have interest to read or watch the series.

As much as the series does not have any implicit sexual content, it is still portraying some form of a dark theme. Some people even called it satanic. This isn't one of those series which has a dark theme out there. I believe the others that were mentioned could be similar too. One would have to read or watch these series with care.
