This doesn't mean you can detect every single deception. But I think we know what is written on our hearts and minds.
I agree that we still struggle with sin. But that is not all we know. We have the mind of Christ
For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.

I don't think it's easy to detect his lies, but I think we know what is written on our hearts and minds.

Suppose you overheard a conversation that went like this:
John: What are you thinking about?
Jim: I'm thinking about going to the store.
-a little while later-
Jim: Earlier when I said I was thinking about going to the store, I was deceived. I only thought that's what I was thinking. I wasn't actually thinking that.
If I heard that I'd think Jim was one mixed up person. We can change our minds later, but of course we know what we are thinking.
