I'm interested in what do you think about heavens.
I've seen people saying you loose your bad memories; I've already said (and showed?) that that would be imposible.
Many argue on what the bible says -- that there will be no pain, no sorrow in heavens.
And many ask, how can you be happy in heavens when your relatives would be in hell for instance.
But Jesus said that whoever loves his mother/father/etc. more than Him is not worthy of Him.
Catholics believe you go to purgatory (am I right?) before going to heavens and "heal" your sould wounds there first; there is no proof for that from what I know;
An other option in my mind is that the bible says that in heavens you won't have any new source of sorrow or pain, and perhaps being there with God -- an imense joy will just wash away all other pain, etc. .
Greetingd Daedalus,
With the following as a premise, I believe the best we can do is stick with the scriptures of what has been revealed:
2 Corinthians 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
So with that said:
1 Peter 1:8-9 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with
joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9 Receiving the end of your faith, even
the salvation of your souls.
Isaiah 11:6-9 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Jeremiah 31:33-34 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
John 16:21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child,
she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
Revelation 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
There may be more, but for now that is a pretty good overview of what we shall see in heaven.
Blessings,
Dad Ernie
