Hello everybody,
Greetings from Germany!
I thought I give it a try and sign up for a Christian forum, because this will probably work well with my current season of life. Although I am part of a non-denominational church, I miss friendships and (deep) conversations about faith and life. Perhaps here is a good place to start searching and finding what I am looking for or maybe not. Time will tell. :)
I live in Germany, I work, I am a mother, I paint a lot in my free time, I like true crime (current trials mostly), I am a big F1 fan, and of course and above all, I go to Church, love reading my Bible and listening to worship tracks (my favorite band is Rivers & Robot! They don't do music today anymore unfortunately, but their style is sooooo fantastic.)
My favorite books are the gospel of John and Ruth. And my favorite Bible verse is John 14:27. My favorite psalm is Psalm 1.
And that's enough for an introduction! :)
Thank you for reading! Have a great week!

John an Ruth are amazing books - and so different in character. I guess you like watching true crime instead of committing it? :)

What could be reasons you can't find/develop deep conversations about faith/life in your current church? Herzlich Wilkommen ..

Welcome welcome!

Nice to have you. I checked out Rivers and Robots, and I must say I think you have great taste in music.

Find the friendlies, avoid the pot holes, and we'll see you around the forum. :)

Vielen Dank! :)

Yes, watching and not committing, haha! :D

I think it is a combination of a lot of things. My current church is about an hour away by train, so it is a bit difficult to participate in the regular church programs on weekdays (like Bible study groups or prayer meetings). I am a single mother, so my day evolves a lot around my son. He is still very small. I could have picked a different church, but I feel at home at this particular church. I imagine those to be the main reasons. There are more reasons, for sure, but perhaps not to expound on at this time.

I get it ... sometimes churches have home/cell groups that happen more locally, but I guess you already would have checked for that. Working and raising a young boy may leave little time, yet indeed, social connections are so important. Maybe you could invite friends from church over to your place for an evening conversations/meals ('abendbrot' isn't it). Of course that requires first to make those friends at church :)

Crime, F1 ... adrenaline junkie? There is always a story behind everything.

Anyway, be blessed!

Abendbrot, that's correct. Are you German or have you learned some German? :)
That's definitely something I was thinking of. However, my current living conditions don't really allow for visitors... Once God blesses us with a new appropriate apartment (hopefully this year!), I will be more than happy to invite guests over :D

Originally I'm Dutch - so understand German reasonably well; but I live in Australia - yet still I visit NW Europe regularly for work and family/social visits. This time of the year NW Europe is too cold to organise social gatherings outside, otherwise you might consider doing park-based meet-ups; a better apartment would make things easier I guess.

'adrenaline junkie' is a common English expression for someone who seeks/is addicted to constant thrills - it's not something I made up. People diagnosed with ADHD may experience it but it also occurs as a coping mechanism to numb mental suffering from the past (as the thrills silence other more painful emotions) or when fearing boredom. I'm not suggesting anything here, just explaining the term .. :)

Enjoy CF, your new journey in life and your little boy of course .. Every day a new opportunity to seek Gods will and blessing, and to be that to others :praying: And let the 'story behind everything' become our witness to grace and redemption.
