The judge knows full well things take time in Washington. The last I heard they told the judge they did not have any updates to what they previously provided.
except they have been given ages to do so, and shown repeatedly they have no intention of obeying, so at this point they need to show something and that they are not just continuging to ignore.
Apparently the Senator from Michigan(correction, Maryland) was unable to gain the release of Garcia. If he were ever released and wanted to travel to the U.S. he could apply for a temporary visa, but he will have to wait at home.
And given court rulings the US is where he is suppose to be. I mean I don't get it. No less than three Trump officials, two in DOJ and one from ICE said they made a mistake. The courts are ordering he be returned. If Trump and all his supporters think he's a MS-13 "terrorist" given claims they make in public, then they can surely make those evidentiary claims in court and send him on his way. But they don't, and for good reason.
The good reason is that Garcia is in El Salvador and no trial has been convened where the Trump administration can present facts. The Trump administration allowed a senator to travel to El Salvador and try and make his case, and the government of El Salvador even let the senator meet with Garcia. If El Salvador is convinced by any new evidence they may send him back.
If they want to deport him, then as the judge ruled he needs to be brought back and have due process. Due process means seeing a judge. What a senator did or didn't do doesn't mean squat. It's the Trump admin the judge ordered.
The Trump administration allowed the senator to travel to El Salvador. Realize El Salvador is a sovereign nation, and Garcia is a citizen of El Salvador.
