30 Day Sex Challenge

A southwest Florida church issued a challenge for its married members: Hanky panky every day.
Relevant Church head pastor Paul Wirth issued the 30-day sex challenge to take on high divorce rates.

So having sex everyday for 30 days will solve the divorce rate??? I imagine that some of the couples male and female will be tired of sex inside a week or two....not to mention that obviously they don't promote, nor practice NFP. I gotta laugh at how Evangelicals come up with the most amusing fads, though!

I think it's a great idea. My marriage is best when we're having sex at least once a day. I don't know if that's a cause or an effect, but I think the challenge sounds like a good thing. Why not have sex everyday? It's better than watching TV, and most people find time to do that everyday.

For all the thread about chaste marriages and other weird stuff I've seen on this fourm the truth is the a lot of the divroce rate in this country is based on the fact that there just isn't a lot of sex going on in marriages.

(At the moment we, as Americans, are having less sex in marriage than our grandparents did in the 1950's)

At least the evangelicals are TRYING something.

What the Chruch done to help improve the sex lives of its married members in the past 40 years ?

This is a real good post, a real good point. A "challenge" of 30-days might seem a bit, well, artificial to some; but CC points out well what we're up against!

What you fail to understand is that usually there's something else going on in the marriage if sex isn't. Couples who have healthy marriages are already having sufficient sex (I realize that is relative since everyday is too much for some and too little for others)
I say work on the problems in the relationship and the rest will fall into place.

Most priests have no training in the dynamics of marriage or in the management of a long term sexual relationship.

From my experience most priest seem to think we're all out here doing it like bunnys

I really don't think your average parish priest is any help at all in this area and I honestly beleive no one above the renk of parish preist cares much beyond the married laity staying married and having a dozen kids.

Meanwhile, we could really us a little help but what do we get ?

Yeah- I'm with MissS if I gotta have sex everyday for 30 days I want it to be with someone I'm crazy about...that precludes my husband...he makes me crazy...but 30 days...well that is like a total of like an hour spent together over the month-maybe that extra 60 minutes of time will tranform our marriage... oh wait- he's actually got give a crap about trying to help me make myself happy and participate a little in that...so maybe that extra hour will just makes us realise the freaking Grand Canyon between us.

YOu know tho' CC--a woman likeme is just f'ed...she has a husband who is seduce proof. If I try he gets annoyed and angry...there are even very strict "rules" about when and how I am allowed to kiss him.

Obviously these thing weren't en force when we met and two months later were preggers---but they are my reality now....and ain't nothing that I can do about--nothing at all....
