His so-called criminality is the product of lawfare that millions were not taken in by.
Lawfare? Isn't that what defying a 9-0 Supreme Court ruling is?

Sen. Lisa Murkowski said a fear of retaliation under President Donald Trump's administration is rising to levels she's not seen before, acknowledging this week that it is so pervasive that even the outspoken senator is "oftentimes very anxious" to speak up out of fear of recrimination.
The Alaska senator, who has been among Trump’s most prominent critics in the Republican Party, made the startling admission at a conference of nonprofit and tribal leaders in Anchorage on Monday. Addressing a question about how to respond to people who are afraid in the current political climate, Murkowski responded: “We are all afraid.”
“It’s quite a statement,” she continued after a long pause, in remarks first reported by the Anchorage Daily News. “We’re in a time and place where — I don’t know, I certainly have not — I have not been here before. And I’ll tell you, I’m oftentimes very anxious myself about using my voice because retaliation is real. And that’s not right. But that’s what you’ve asked me to do and so I’m going to use my voice to the best of my ability.” --POLITICO
There are no Alexei Navalnys in the GOP. None
I approve this message.
Is she afraid of trump? Seems more reasonable she is afraid of not getting elected again. Hopefully she's replaced with a conservative. They must have som popular ones in Alaska.

She, like many other Republicans have made known, are scared of him but even more so the death threats from his base.
She just won reelection as a conservative (R) beating the Trump endorsed challenger.

I have a smaller one that bleeds for those whining about maybe getting a taste of their own medicine.

Got it, you like autocrats.

Well I like the Constitution.

So I guess we're at an impasse.

Not all (R)'s are conservative. And I would guess there are many times more death threats from the left towards Trump supporters than there are from the right against those opposed to Trump. If there is any doubt about this, we could probably research it.

Listen, I am literally telling you what Republican elected officials fear given the supporters within their own party. This isn't about whataboutism.
Google this "republicans fear death threats privately"

I'm okay with cleaning the swamp. Remove the defects, and replace them all.
It is painful to see anyone facing death threats, whether on the left, right, or with no political affiliation. But blaming Trump for threats against his detractors opens up the conversation to include a discussion on which side foments more violence. And clearly the answer to that question is the side that sees building on fire being looted in the background and fights in the foreground and describes that as a "mostly peaceful protest".

Concurred. But how would we go about cleaning out the plutocratic system we have? That in fact is the swamp.

Wow, it's amazing how liberals are the real bad guys here.

Clearly you forgot the insurrection which, except for a stacked Supreme Court decision, Trump would be on trial for.

Considering both parties are plutocratic,
it would take a third party consisting of the working class to stage a successful revolution to usurp control of the government.

Hey, we aree on a lot of what you said here. Both parties have abandoned the working class, the GOP blatantly by working against them in favor of the 0.1%, and the Democrats mostly by inaction and fecklessness. If neither party are going to change this, and prioritize working Americans, a third party way very well be what we need.

Be an uphill battle, though. The two party system is too entrenched. Still, an idea worth pursuing.

-- A2SG, but I do disagree with the term "usurp," though. There have been enough attempts at doing that of late.....

Democratically elected leaders in free countries don't get to retaliate against critics. That's how dictatorships operate.

-CryptoLutheran
Did you hold this position when retaliation was in high gear against Trump?

No democratically elected leader retaliated against Trump. He was indicted for his own actions through a fully lawful process and, in some cases, was found guilty after a trial where he had full legal representation to defend himself.

-- A2SG, all in accordance with the law....

Prosecution is not persecution. Prosecution is due process after indictment by a grand jury of ordinary Americans basing their decision on hard evidence.
Persecution would be Trump sending plane loads of men to a Salvadoran Gulag with zero evidence and zero due process.
Defending rapist, murders, drug dealers, human traffickers, and child abusers who are here illegally seems to be the sport of many liberals.
