My wife is Catholic & I'm not. I was not familiar with the Catholic faith when we met in 1999. There was a push for me to convert & I did for a few years then I left the Catholic Church. She goes to Mass, I go to a different church. Once every 2-3 months I'll join her at Mass. She hasn't been to my church in years & likely won't again. Anyone else doing this? The debates we used to have are over. We just do our own thing.

My wife and I have different faith practices. The keys to making this work are tolerance, mutual respect, and accommodation of your partner's practice. It works well for us. We didn't start out this way, and it was rather sad when it changed, admittedly. But once past that and coming to accepting that we value different things, it has worked extremely well because we respect each other's choices.
