Looks like I won't be watching this Olympics either.
Eww. Why does everything have to be woke? End times stuff, bro. If I had a choice of being driven 110 mph (180 km/h) on a highway by an underaged driver, or watching the Olympics, I'd choose the first option. Both are dumb options. #BoycottThe2024Olympics, go watch a classic sci-fi movie or anime instead.

Just trying to get you used to the darkness...

I'm not having anything to do with it.
Agreed. Remember when none of this stuff was shown on TV, even just a few years ago, such as in 2021, 2018, 2016, 2014, or 2012? Everything was much better before 2021.

I'm not going to boycott the Olympics in the sense of creating some upset and mad movement against it. But as for me when I ready about what they've signed onto for the opening ceremonies it's the same as if they've came into my home and pulled the plug of the TV. If they didn't care about loosing millions upon millions of potential views then fine....I guess that's what they've done. I'll check in a couple of years from now and see if whatever city hosts it they'll be less controversial. If they are I'll be a watcher. If not back to national sports.

It has been on TV in the USA in one form or another since the early 70's. In a matter of a few decades it went from taboo (for lack of a better term) to being "normalized", and the new generations embraced it, because that is what they were taught, and what they saw in the media. It gained a foothold and now, today, it's celebrated. I saw it change in two or three generations right before my eyes.

That is true, the woke stuff has been on TV since the 1970s (mostly taboo back then) but it has gotten worse in the 2010s and 2020s as it has become a norm and is celebrated sadly. Imagine what the next 50 years will bring?

Amen to this. I was thinking about watching the Olympics online, or through a VPN, but that is not happening after hearing this news. Well, 2028 will be in LA, so expect the LA Olympics to be even worse. But, maybe the 2026 Milan Olympics would be okay to watch, as Milan is part of a strongly Christian Catholic country, Italy. Italy would never let this stuff fly.

I am going to pick and choose what to watch during this year's Olympics. After all, I am a big-time fan of sports. Being a part of sports, whether playing and/or watching, has been in my family's blood and traditions for longer than I can remember. The Olympic sports that I want to watch this year is basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, some of the track & field, and probably a few other Olympic sports as well. I did not watch the opening ceremonies at all, and I am very glad that I did not watch it.

Amen, it is a good idea to skip the opening ceremonies. Basketball and gymnastics are pretty cool, though soccer is the most fascinating sport.

Just be careful, if one pays for the Olympics, then one might be funding the woke nonsense at the opening ceremony, so it is best to use a VPN to the BBC, setting your location to the UK.

I will be watching on cable TV. That is the same cable tv subscription on which I watch re-runs of Marvel movies on FX. I will also watch highlights of the Olympic sports on youtube.

Marvel is awesome, or should I say, Marvelous. :) 2019 was the first year where I got into Marvel, starting with Iron Man (2008) on a flight over the Atlantic in the summer.

But yes, cable TV is good, as it has plenty of channels to choose from, some woke, some based (non-woke). The Olympic highlights might be narrated by AI version of Al Michaels. Now, that is both cool, but also sad, as artificial intelligence should not take over someone's job of voice overs. Instead, NBC could have hired a real person.

You know who would be cool to voice over the Olympic highlights, that is made of real flesh and blood instead of software? Morgan Freeman.

AI Al Michaels voice over for Olympic highlights:
