While Project 2025 is overseen by the Heritage Foundation, there are more than 100 conservative organizations involved with it along with many of Trump's closest policy advisers.

I understand that you only learned about Project 2025 a couple of weeks ago, and like many, you are shocked to learn about some of the extreme ideas it contains. If you will take the time to do a little more research, you will find that Project 2025 isn't just some baseless propaganda campaign and is instead a serious threat to our democracy and our American way of life.
The Project 2025 document is 900 pages long. I'm willing to bet you never read it, but neither did I as I only
learned about it this past week.

Fact is, no one I know ever heard of Project 2025. We've all heard of the Heritage Foundation, but not the project
they propose. I guess myself and the people in my circle are just clueless. Well, at least we know BS when we hear
t when it came out this past week against Trump. Also we know that Biden is nothing but a career politician who
has done more harm than good for the country. He'll give away American lives, treasure and jobs in order to be
applauded by foreign leaders.

2023? No one was paying attention until after the debate when Trump was accused of being tied to it.

You found a key piece of critical information. No one pays much attention anymore. Mr Trump literally said the Heritage Foundation was working on his republican agenda with Project 2025. I've seen a couple links posted with Donald praising that project. He exploits the very fact that his supporters do not pay attention and never call him out for his manipulative lies. Mr Trump's political power depends on this unfortunate fact.

I knew Trump praised the Heritage Foundation, but not the 900 page document on Project 2025 and he himself said
he was not on board with Project 2025. Did he lie?

I don't know but it's used against Trump just like his statement, "there were good people on both sides," which was
taken out of context by the media and democrats. Biden even tried to use it in the debate. :D

Hey, at least there's a platform to peruse now haha. I find this a welcome development. Now there's two or three different versions to confuse us further.

I'm one of the uncommitted people keep talking about. We'll uncommitted other than knowing I will
never vote for Biden. Will I vote for Trump? Probably not unless he chooses a VP like Tulsi Gabbard.
I'm from MA so there is no way this state will ever give Trump the electoral votes. :D

You're correct; I haven't read it in its entirety, but I was familiar with Project 2025 prior to the recent presidential debate and had read several articles about it and excerpts from it over the past several months. It has also been discussed on platforms like Youtube, Twitter, and Facebook, and even this forum, where there have been at least three threads dedicated to Project 2025, and it is mentioned in many others.

Trump and Allies Forge Plans to Increase Presidential Power in 2025 July 23, 2023

Christian Nationalism, Zionism, and the Conservative Answer to the Impending NWO. December 15, 2023

The Authoritarian Playbook January 22, 2024

And here's a rather prophetic comment made back in December:

"The Dems know what is at stake. They've actually been paying attention to things like Project 2025."

I find it fascinating that many on the right have been blindsided by Project 2025 when it has been covered extensively in the mainstream media since last year, and there are countless videos on Youtube and posts on social media warning people about it, also going back to last year. Hopefully, this will be an eye-opener for those who haven't been paying attention.

Fact is, no one I know ever heard of Project 2025. We've all heard of the Heritage Foundation, but not the project
they propose. I guess myself and the people in my circle are just clueless.

Again, Project 2025 is not Trump's platform. It is "Agenda 47" and he is very clear about what he wants to do

it doesn't matter that people formerly associated with Trump are involved with the Heritage Foundation --that is guilt-by-association nonsense, and trying to make connections where few exist.

this whole Project 2025 panic is a fake news story put out there by Democratic insiders to distract from Biden's floundering campaign, and calls for him to step down, etc.

the Heritage Foundation has been calling for things like abolishing the Department of Education for decades, and not one GOP president has even tried to do that

Perhaps no president has, but I seem to recall Rick Perry publicly endorsing the idea; and he was a governor of a major state, a presidential candidate, and a cabinet secretary. Populist, antiestablishment positions have only gotten more popular among Republicans since then.

From the first article you posted

"With the Biden administration half over and with the immediate dangers inherent to one-party rule in Washington behind us for now, it’s past time to lay the groundwork for a White House more friendly to the right. For decades, as the left has continued its march through America’s institutions, conservatives have been outgunned and outmatched when it comes to the art of government."

Calls for the White House to be more friendly to the right, how horrifying eh? :D

You know this just like you know that nobody had heard of Project 2025 prior to the debates?
I know this because I watched him over the years. He was part of the trade commission during the first two years of
the Clinton administration. He along with I believe John Kerry, negotiated NAFTA and the G-8 trade deal with
China and India. This deal sent US manufacturing jobs to Mexico, China and India. By the 2000's when Bush
was president, engineering soon moved to China and India as well. By 2011, I lost my job as engineering
had moved to China. We learned the pain of all this during COVID-19.

Also, Biden voted for the war in Iraq. He also made the blunder in Afghanistan and even lied in the debate
saying that no service members were killed during his presidency. The Gold Star Mothers were shocked to
hear him say this.

Project 2025 was unknown until Biden's dismal performance in the debate. Then, the administration and democrats
are trying to pin Trump to Project 2025, which he has no part of and most Americans knew nothing of it.

The DNC has also posted lies about Project 2025 itself with the claim that they want to eliminate overtime pay for
working more than 40hrs and cutting Social Security.

In other words, once again the DNC is into mudslinging with false accusations.

I believe that Brnes and Noble had a book on the 2025 Plan,
months before the last Biden Trump debate.

The Plan has been around for months.
But few Americans are conscious that it exists, and is available in printed format.

The 2025 Plan IS NOT some knee jerk response, to the last
Biden-trump debate.

It looked like a Trump team document but this confirms that we are headed to a radical new way of life where the poor get poorer while the rich gets richer. I guess not so different than now but it would be the government itself that ensures that poor people stay poor. What I can't believe is how many people support this move toward dictatorship.

I'm hearing bits and pieces from different outlets. The latest is the eradication of school lunch. We're aware of its importance in combatting hunger for at risk families.

The book is on Amazon and sold out. The video I watched had a physical copy. Some people are pouring through it and it didn't come out after the debate. There are several versions if you look at the seller.

The project consists of a few major goals outlined in their mission statement.

  1. Centralize power in the executive branch, i.e., the president.
  2. Dismantle the administrative state
  3. Defend the nation's sovereignty and borders
  4. Secure God-given individual rights — to live freely
Some of the proposals include putting the Federal Justice Department entirely under the president's control.

“Think tanks do think tank stuff. They come up with ideas. They say things, I, look, I like Heritage Foundation, I agree with some of the things they stand for," Rubio said on an appearance on CNN's State of the Union. "I've seen plenty of write-ups, frankly, not just from left-wing think tanks, but from columnists and others who are opinion writers who have actually come up with crazy ideas that are now the policies of the United States under Joe Biden. Things like, I don't know, letting people into our country and releasing them, because there's no danger."

The document states these proposed actions would all be taken within 180 days of a potential presidential inauguration, Jan. 20, 2025, hence the name "Project 2025." Again – Donald Trump has not openly accepted this plan as his own, so this is not a sure thing even in the event Trump is elected.

THE QUESTION

Would Project 2025 eliminate the Head Start program?

THE ANSWER

This is true.

Yes, Project 2025 proposes eliminating the Head Start program.

WHAT WE FOUND

Project 2025’s comprehensive policy guide “Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise” includes a proposal to eliminate the Head Start program.

The proposal to eliminate the Head Start program is in the chapter about the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). That chapter explicitly calls for the elimination of the Head Start program because the author claims it’s “fraught with scandal and abuse.”

Roger Severino, the author of the chapter, claims the Head Start program is in a “crisis of rampant abuse,” citing a HHS Office of Inspector General report that found 1 in 4 Head Start grant recipients had cases of child abuse, unsupervised children or unauthorized release between October 2015 and May 2020. Severino also claimed, without citing any sources, that research has found “little or no long-term academic value for children.”

Several studies have found that children who participated in the Head Start program experience various positive educational, social and health effects.

THE QUESTION

Would Project 2025 eliminate free school lunches?

THE ANSWER

This is false.

Project 2025 does not propose eliminating free school lunches. However, it does call for narrowing the program’s eligibility requirements so that fewer students would receive free or low-cost lunches through it.

WHAT WE FOUND

Project 2025 does not propose eliminating free school lunches; it does, however, include a proposal to reduce the number of students eligible for free or reduced-price lunches.

The free school lunch program is addressed in Project 2025’s chapter on the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The chapter’s author, Daren Bakst, does not argue for an end to the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or the School Breakfast Program (SBP), the two federal programs that offer low-income students free meals at public and non-profit private schools and residential child care institutions.

The NSLP, which began in 1946, reimburses schools and districts for offering low-cost or no-cost lunches to children each school day. Children in families at or below 130% of the federal poverty line qualify for free lunches and children in families at or below 185% of the federal poverty line qualify for low-cost lunches.

In 2010, the NSLP was expanded with the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which gives all students in a school or district free meals if a certain percentage of students within that school or district are eligible. The threshold was 40% until last year, when it was lowered to 25%.

Bakst calls for an end to the CEP and to reject lawmakers’ efforts to expand eligibility for the free school lunch program. Bakst claims that the free school lunch programs have gone beyond their original purpose of serving meals to low-income students and now resemble “entitlement programs.”
The program currently provides more than 4 billion lunches a year.

I listened to Ben Schapiro before Congress, being asked about Project 2025. He like most, said he hadn't
read the document other than the little soundbites reported in the news on it. He then affirmed as did the
Democrat congressman asking the questions, the four items you outlined.
