Did God save Trump? Why?

In March, Briggs, during an interview with Steve Cioccolanti & Discover Ministries, said God gave him specific chilling details about the assassination attempt on Trump’s life as well as a dark time that would come with his presidency.

“I saw a red wave coming out of Michigan and then I saw Oklahoma, and there were embers of people and … they had torches all throughout Oklahoma. And they were raising up these torches that looked like fire and they were bringing forth a new patriotism upon the nation … and it just kept spreading like fire all throughout America,” Briggs said.

“And I saw Trump rising up, and then I saw [an] attempt on his life, that this bullet flew by his ear. And it came so close to his head that it busted his … eardrum,” Briggs claimed.

Coincidence??

I like Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings. We haven't finished counting Dumbledore's fails and I see something new every time I revisit Tolkien. I like Bridgerton but this season pushed intimacy too far. And I'm looking forward to the final season of The Umbrella Academy.

And I'm following the Diddy case and learned a lot about the industry and things to guard against I'd never consider.

He seems such a divisive figure somebody who would break the current world order jeopardizing the freedoms of countries all over the world. Ukraine and Taiwan are two examples. He is a proven liar, adulterer and fraudster so he has not earned any special grace, so why save the man? What does God want to do here?

Why would the Sovereign Lord permit Trump to survive?

Romans 9:15-16 NIV

For he says to Moses,

“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy."

Why did God spare Trump? Let's first ask why did He spare us? If we think it was for any other reason than His mercy and grace and just His good pleasure, then let's gird up our loins and post a list of all the reasons we are more 'deserving' than Trump, or anybody else.

Other than select movies, anything Star Trek or Star Wars, or Tolkien, or LotR, etc. Science fiction and/or fantasy is my favorite genre mostly, with just a few select other things. Some action movies, etc.

In the turn of Donald Trump's head God told Washington - he's coming to do just that.

God uses men, broken men, and raises them up to be greater than themselves in times such as these.

There is no evidence that Biden is demented. Though he has made some serious fumbles in public appearances and sounds less convincing in public debate

Washington was built on a swamp, the imagery of political corruption is more ancient than the capital and goes back to attitudes to authority generally, even the revolution. There are specific examples of malpractice but in general federal authority works.

Trump has tapped some deep sentiments here. From an international perspective he appears incredibly selfish and to model a view of America that would break much that is good for the peace, prosperity and indeed righteousness of the nations. Biden is not a convicted fellon and Trumps crimes are worrying in a leader.

God did use Trump to overthrow Roe v Wade and there was peace under him but he mismanaged the pandemic and created the big lie about the election that is undermining democracy in the USA. He borrowed more money than any other president and built an economy on credit while pandering to the Saudis.

A lot of things were said in that YouTube which might be less true, but this seems on the nail in its details about bullets and ears

So his view is that the Christian nationalism evoked by Trump may bring dark times for the nation, but that Trump would win. All parts of that prophecy have to come true for this to be of God.

Serendipity is a poor choice of word as it implies positive chance. The sovereignty of God does not leave space for chance, if this is a test then Trumps survival is a feature of that.

Sometimes I get so caught up in just the threads I'm currently in, that I sometimes don't look at the rest much sometimes, etc.

World leaders that have had meetings with him describe a man who is cogent and in command of the issues. When Trump was in office he sent the US ambassador to Germany to warn them,

if they did not drop Nord stream project, they risk being sactioned, remember?

Trump wanted Germany the powerhouse of Europe to give up cheap reliable oil, gas by turning on a tap.

No, buy from us he insisted, such a ridiculous idea, transporting over the Atlantic.

That is one minus (imo).

One plus would be cutting off all aid to Ukraine (imo)

LOL I didn't see that one. But I found myself rewinding or replaying what he said. And much like you I drew the same conclusion. After his address on the shooting I think he's fine. He was very articulate and only stumbled on Trump but the rest was flawless and he didn't look confused.

Janet Yellen makes similar faces and genuinely looks lost but she's smart as a whip. It usually occurs when she's lying but when you see her elsewhere it's absent.

I agree. But remember he's an actor and played himself. We keep forgetting that. He had years of experience before he ran. And that's probably why he did it. If you recall his rhetoric he talked about being the deal maker and hired Omarosa from the show. He was leveraging what we saw.

He is cogent and in command of the issues in small spurts...like any person that old.

A president needs to be cogent and in command of the situation in a dire month of 20-hour days and 7-day weeks while having a cold.

What is causing many here to down play Gods protection of Trump with all of the what ifs? No matter how many demonize the man the fact is Trump was and is covered by prayer by many. I personally believe that those that keep tearing this man down are the ones who need to look inward.
