Good news for Jan. 6 protestors. For the right to protest really.. it was a dangerous precedent to set had it gone any other way for free speech in the form of protesting.
While I have never carried a sign yet because I personally don't think it's effective I have always thought the right to protest was important, and this obstruction charge would have made most or at least many protest occasions illegal on their face since "official proceedings" are what is most often protested at.

Good day,
It means that the statue used for the charges of obstruction was misused by DOJ.
So those charges must be dropped.... and could invalidate most of the dependent charges.
This will apply to all people change incorrectly by the DOJ under that misused statue.
