The defense secretary sent sensitive information about strikes in Yemen to an encrypted group chat that included his wife and brother, people familiar with the matter said.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared detailed information about forthcoming strikes in Yemen on March 15 in a private Signal group chat that included his wife, brother and personal lawyer, according to four people with knowledge of the chat.
Some of those people said that the information Mr. Hegseth shared on the Signal chat included the flight schedules for the F/A-18 Hornets targeting the Houthis in Yemen — essentially the same attack plans that he shared on a separate Signal chat the same day that mistakenly included the editor of The Atlantic.
Mr. Hegseth’s wife, Jennifer, a former Fox News producer, is not a Defense Department employee, but she has traveled with him overseas and drawn criticism for accompanying her husband to sensitive meetings with foreign leaders.
Mr. Hegseth’s brother Phil and Tim Parlatore, who continues to serve as his personal lawyer, both have jobs in the Pentagon, but it is not clear why either would need to know about upcoming military strikes aimed at the Houthis in Yemen.
Why you shouldn't place a unqualified FOXnews talking head with drinking a problem as the head of DOD. I think there is a Inspector General's investigation started.

I don't believe the New York Times. They are using anonymous sources.
I mean, it's not like it's the first time it's happened...

Probably not the last.
When problems aren’t corrected and instead provided cover, this is exactly what we get.

The most unaccountable administration in history.

The writer of that op-ed is a good man and I am not necessarily disagreeing with him.
Does Hegseth need to go?
However, I still don't believe that hit piece written by the New York Times.

That's the way it always is, isn't it, calling the reporting you don't like a "hit piece". If it wasn't an anonymous source, then we'd hear about how the source hates Trump.

Yes, this is the same kind of response we seen by both Trump supporters and the Trump admin itself given the first Signal use for missile strikes on personal phones. "We don't believe them." "The journalist is a liar." Which prompted the journalist to publish the chain of messages. It's cognitive dissonance "deja vu all over again"

NPR Exclusive: The White House is looking to replace Pete Hegseth as defense secretary

The White House has begun the process of looking for a new leader at the Pentagon to replace Pete Hegseth, according to a U.S. official who was not authorized to speak publicly.

Trump offers private reassurance to embattled Hegseth

President Donald Trump has privately told Pete Hegseth that he’s sticking by him, reinforcing his public support for the embattled Defense secretary who has faced calls for his ouster amid growing turmoil at the Pentagon.

Take your pick!

If it's in The Onion, it must be true.

There were four of them in the NYTimes, and named sources in the Politico piece. If you think these are the only times this happened, then Mexico really will pay for that wall. As the Politico article notes, there are more shoes to drop regarding bigger matters.
