This video is only about 6 minutes long in which Maria Bartiromo is being interviewed on Charlie Kirk's radio podcast show. In my view, I think that she has a good analysis and explanation regarding the goals President Trump has with the tariffs against goods and services coming from China.

There are lots of smart, good, and also very well educated intelligent people whom are agreeing with Bartiromo's analysis and her conclusions. I don't believe it is useful at ALL to simply compare us to people who believe that the moon landings were faked.

You can be smart, intelligent and well educated but that doesn't stop you from doing stupid things. It doesn't stop you from supporting people that do stupid things. It doesn't stop you from saying or repeating things that are stupid.

Bartimoro is the classical example. She has a BA in journalism so I assume that she's smart. She went to NYU so she's presumably well educated. But she gives all the appearances of being someone completely lacking in any ability for critical thought whatsoever. And she's a journalist for heaven's sake. It's what she studied at university. Did she take some time off when they covered that aspect of what she was meant to have been learning?

So when she talks she sounds remarkably stupid. Inane is another word that comes to mind. Gullible another. Ignorant. Naive. Fawning when interviewing people like Trump. She was a central figure in Dominion's legal action against Fox for heaven's sake.

Then seriously, you've never seen her interview Trump. Or Guiliano. Or Powell. If you have then it must be your idea of what journalism actually is. And you're completely in the dark about why Dominion cited her at length in their actions against Fox. You can't be aware of of it and disagree.

I attempted to listen to her initial four minutes. She transitioned from discussing fentanyl to the amount of money entering US coffers, and then moved on to national security and tied all to terrif.

Over the past 50 years, American policies have consistently focused on free trade and reducing tariffs. From Ronald Reagan to H. Bush, Clinton, W. Bush, Obama, and Mitt Romney, these strategies have contributed to the victory in the Cold War, strengthened the NATO alliance, and significantly boosted the US economy by over 800%.

But sure we should listen to Maria Bartiromo and ignore the last 50 years success.

I am sorry to tell you, not many smart people agree with Maria or President Trump on this. Jerome Powell definitely doesn’t agree with her.

Maria Bartiromo is not a journalist. She is a talk show host. During the Dominion case against Fox Corporation, Fox's own lawyer argued that talk show hosts such as Bartiromo and Hannity should not be considered journalists, as they are expressing their opinions rather than reporting hard facts or news. Additionally, Fox Corporation stated that any reasonable American should take Tucker Carlson's statements as opinion rather than serious news.

The National Security angle is interesting in the sense of the Japanese curse 'may you live in interesting times'.

Steel and Aluminum are important and we do import a lot of both.

But until Trump's recent Tariff insanity our supplies were safe. After all it is difficult for anyone to interfere with imports from Canada and Mexico.

Well, anyone except Trump! If Canada decides to hit back, they could ban export of Iron and Aluminum to The States. Something unthinkable 2 months ago.

As it stands Canada is probably looking for other export markets. If deals get cut they will persist. At least for almost 4 years as no sane person trusts Trump.

Yet she isn't just a talking head passing on her opinions. She interviews people. She has them face to face, live, asking them about matters such as Dominion. And she is a qualified journalist. But she doesn't do her job. Which is to dig up the facts. To question her guests and hold them to account. She makes no attempt to do that. Her opinions, as reflected in the video posted earlier, are worthless. Because they are simply opinions. And they're not based on facts either.

To put her forward as some unbiased expert is nonsensical. You might as well put Carlson forward as support for her views.

There is no denying that China has abused trade with the USA, and it's been going on for a long time. During Obama's administration, I became aware of it.

Chang is right about the worst time because China's not doing well, just as others in what is starting to be a globalized recession. I fear that China will fare better than the USA coming out of these trade wars because they have natural resources and processing, and we don't have much. Just by them stopping trade with us on stuff we need for manufacturing will slow this "greatness" down. China isn't a prostitute for votes, but we, on the other hand, will see a blue wave from here on out because of the PAIN this will bring. This idea is a good one, but Trump's extremism and not explaining any of this to Americans will lead to the Republican downfall for a long time. I don't see extremist ideas changing anytime soon because Americans have become too extreme.

We didn't have the environmentalists and regulations, and that made it hard to do business in America, which allowed other countries to dirty up the globe for our use, and not to mention cheap labor that hurt Americans to this day.

20th century. Child labor, Robber Barrons, then the rise of unions. American businesses seeking to recapture those child labor rates bee line to China. American loses it's middle class. And now were mad at China. Go figure.
