Now, said countries are probably on the long waiting list with their tails between their legs to call Trump to renegotiate their tariffs down to zero. That is a win for the U.S.

Alternatively, said countries might be on the waiting list to give Trump whatever favors he wants. That would be a corrupt personal gain for Trump, and a loss for the U.S.

Given the complaints from conservatives that her policies were identical to Biden's, probably a lot like 2024 - low inflation, increasing stock prices, stable mortgage rates, decent unemployment numbers, and we still had trading partners who don't hate us.

We could not have gone on the way we were going, IMO. And the best way was to start from as close to scratch with as even a playing field as we could get.

As to the market. It goes up, it goes down, and over the past 30 or 40 years it has done so several times.
