This is not a one time thing for Joe. Don't you remember the last big fire when Joe traveled there and recounted how he had a fire that almost destroyed his own house? Joe does not show empathy to suffering, he makes it all about himself. People have pleaded with him to find the missing children and to stop the drugs and the human trafficking, and instead he secretly flew people into the country.

I didn't read about the other incident, but it wouldn't surprise me if he had a similar encounter.

I think it's mostly because of the way we as a species think. We "get used" to things when they happen repeatedly and can't stay outraged at the same thing when it happens with regularity. What elicts a strong reponse the first time only elicts a shrug when it happens all the time.

We are emotionally burned out. We are bombarded all the time by horrible and immoral news, both on TV, in newspapers and lately in social media. We can't even be bothered to do anything when confronted with children being shot in their schools or working in slave-like conditions in foreign countries to support our way of life, so why should we be bothered about the extra-maritial affairs or some plagiarism by some old guys?

At the same time, we are bombarded with untruths and misleading information to such an extent that we can't be bothered any more to try to differentiate between them. We just assume that things we already believe to be true are true and dismiss any evidence to the contrary. We are completely interconnected and at the same time only focused on ourselves.

Prior to his entry into American politics, Donald Trump, the wealthy real estate mogul, lived a lavish promiscuous life. He was divorced twice and married three times, with multiple extramarital affairs and numerous allegations of sexual misconduct.

No other politician in American history has survived a political career with as many sexual misconduct allegations as President Trump. Even Bill Clinton did not face this many allegations.

What is even more astonishing is that no other presidential candidate in the past 50 years has received such strong support from American Christians who advocate for family values and the sanctity of marriage.

About 5 years ago a different president blamed the state for not tending the trees-- in "national" forests located on "federal" lands.

Voting for one person of bad character over another with bad character is not compromising ones values.

If character is the only issue then no believer should be voting if that's rhe criteria that is required.
