The occurrence of Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs) at the time of Noah, or the early Holocene period, is a possibility. The melting of glaciers and the formation of temporary natural dams could have led to significant flooding events. These GLOFs might have inspired ancient flood myths, including the story of Noah's Flood.
The combination of postglacial sea-level rise and sudden catastrophic floods due to natural dam failures would have created dramatic and potentially devastating events for early human communities, influencing their oral traditions and stories.
There was worldwide flooding from the melting of glaciers. In the area where I live, the Great Lakes, the ice was one mile thick. We have a valley here that, like the Grand Canyon, was created from the water that flooded the area when the ice melted. Although science tends to support gradualism and not catastrophic events, they shoot themselves in the foot because when catastrophic events occur, they are not prepared to deal with them.
The melting glaciers created large lakes and rivers, carving out valleys and depositing sediments that shaped the region's topography
The ice is still melting and places like Flordia are still flooding. Miami changed the building code to 3 feet higher.
Noah's flood effected the whole world and was more then just a local flood.
