Money, power, prestige. Why does anybody subject themselves to it?

No, he hasn’t. His Truth Social stock alone is worth over $2 billion, which he only has because he was president. When the odds of him being reelected were much higher, his stock was worth 3x that.

No, he’s doing it for ego.

That’s a ridiculous proof - even by your own logic, all it “proves” is that they believed something, not that it was actually true.

That’s not accounting for DJT stock.
That is a lot of judgment on your part. I suggest you do not have the superpower to see in the heart of men.
Actions speak louder.
All powerful men have an ego. They have to stand up to the pressure. This is a common saying among athletes. If they do not believe they are the best and able to win, then they have no business being out there. It is a part of a winning attitude.

So, you would willingly allow yourself to be tortured and even killed for something you knew was not true?
The disciples were eyewitnesses to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. It was not merely something they believed. It was something they saw, felt, and heard.

I didn’t see into his heart any more than you did.

Actions speak louder.

You’re right. And I’ve watched Trump’s actions.

All powerful men have an ego. They have to stand up to the pressure.

They do, which is why Trump’s constant whining is so embarrassing.

This is a common saying among athletes. If they do not believe they are the best and able to win, then they have no business being out there. It is a part of a winning attitude.
There’s a lot of overlap between “a winning attitude” and delusion. Work in the arts for a while, and you’ll see loads of people with winning attitudes who can’t understand that they don’t have the skills to cut it.

Read my post again: “all it “proves” is that they believed something, not that it was actually true.”

Plenty of delusional people do things because they believe in something false. Go watch the darwin awards some time.

The disciples were eyewitnesses to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. It was not merely something they believed. It was something they saw, felt, and heard.
To be clear: I’m not arguing about the disciples. I’m arguing against your poor logic, which you used to treat Trump as a benevolent martyr.

We are not talking about eyewitnesses, not merely religious zealots or devotees. They saw Him and put their hands in His hands. They ate food he cooked. 500 people saw him.
I’m arguing against your poor logic, which you used to treat Trump as an egotistical money monster. And you are correct; this is merely something you "believe," not something that is actually true. Well put.

500 people saw him.
No. One person said that 500 saw him. And he wrote about it when he lived a very long way from where it was supposed to have happened and some time after it was supposed to have happened. Do you know the details?

From the debate...Harris had just gone after Trump for election denialism....and what is Trump's response?

FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Let me just tell you about world leaders. Viktor Orban, one of the most respected men -- they call him a strong man. He's a tough person. Smart. Prime Minister of Hungary.

...prasing an authoritarian in Vikto Orban.

Trump resents the American system of governance.

He got shot in the head for this country. I'd say that should count for something.
Not seeing how he did that for the country.

Its not like to chose to go into combat or something. There's literally no credit for him in that event. No blame either.

I suppose one could say he got shot in the head for the sake of ubiquitous and easy firearm access.

He ducked and let someone else take the fatal shot. Maybe that says something, too.
Yeah... he did that on purpose. That is pretty bad.
The man who was killed was between the shooter and Trump. It would be hard for Trump to "duck" a bullet that never even made it to him.
That is just a sad reaction to a terrible event.

It's a pretty dumb question, IMO.
Why else would anyone subject himself to the continual flood of crap he has endured over the past nine years? He has lost millions, been betrayed, and even shot. Is he doing this for fun?
No, he's doing it for power and the opportunity to steal more money.

Last I heard, it was a spectator behind him. But regardless of positioning, the spectator certainly sacrificed more than Trump, wouldn't you say? Trump was the one who ducked, so it wasn't like he was standing tall and fearless.

Trump knew that people wanted him dead, but he continued running for president. Even media pundits sarcastically stated that the only thing that could stop Trump was a bullet. I am glad they got that wrong too.

Most every prominent politician has people who want them dead. Nancy Pelosi had somebody break into her house and beat her husband with a hammer, and is still running for re-election. Do you valorize her similarly?

I hope you are not seriously suggesting that Trump intentionally had someone shot and killed for publicity. I thought MAGA extremist were only the ones believing in conspiracy theories.

Yes. It takes courage to step in the world of politics, or being a judge, knowing that you could be assassinated. I hope that answers your question. Otherwise, should we stop honoring the death of MKL Jr because he was not in combat when he was shot?

Seems to me we honor Martin Luther King Jr's life, and what he did during it, more than we do his death.

-- A2SG, probably why we focus more on things like the "I have a dream" speech than that single day in April.....
