I had to look this up. After reading up on it, Russia doesn't currently share many values with the members in the community, and since Russia is invading one of its members, I don't see Russia getting a seat.

The Council of Europe is an international organisation with the goal of upholding human rights, democracy and the rule of law in Europe. I don't think Russia should get on the council with their current and past behavior.

If Russia wants a seat at any of these tables, it needs to stop acting like a bully.

No, at least not when it's currently at war with several of the member states.

If the Russian where willing to talk instead of shoot, and willing to admit they are in the wrong, it would be a good start. They have given no reason for Europe to trust them, at least Putin hasn't.

That may happen anyway if the recruitment numbers don't climb. It is not the threat you think it is.

Russia has made it clear that they want to take Urkrain. If they do that, we may have a draft anyway.

For a war we are not part of. We (the US) don't need a Ukraine-Russia peace to avoid a draft. There is absolutely zero risk of the ongoing war in Ukraine resulting in a US draft. (Something about not fighting there, you see.)

NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Neither of the locations is adjacent to the North Atlantic.

And Russia is proving why NATO exists.
