Your "God cleaned up all evidence of the flood" is extra-biblical, too. The difference is there is actual ancient writings that mention Lilith.
Um, sure. But why is that an issue? You don't seem to mind extra-biblical stories when they help explain an inconsistency in what you believe. You will even make them up out of whole-cloth. A jot here, a tittle there... Lilith is ancient and from the same culture that wrote the books of the bible. Also, realize that at the time there was no "Bible". There were just manuscripts and books. There was no such thing as "extra-biblical."I see that.
Looks like you're agreeing with me that it's an extra-Biblical add on.
Um, sure. But why is that an issue?
Yes, I'm asking why that matters? And you didn't address the fact that the Bible did not exist as a single book at the time writings about Lilith were created.I think you know that's an extra-Biblical add on.
I'm asking you because you responded to my comment about Lilith.Else you wouldn't be asking me about it.
Your The Flood "theory" involves Noah, but we're not talking about any others. I'm not aware of "extra-biblical" narratives about David. THere are a lot about Jesus. But the same question applies, why is that an issue for you when the bible didn't exist at the time they were written? On what grounds do you dismiss them but accept what you've been taught to accept? After all, you don't ask about Noah ... or David ... or Jesus.
Sure and it seems to have rattled you.So I think you've picked this Adam-married-a-demon story to rattle some sabers.
That's accurate except it's very much in the forefront of my mind that it's all baloney. In my opinion, you know in the back of your mind it's all baloney.
Yes, I'm asking why that matters?
And you didn't address the fact that the Bible did not exist as a single book at the time writings about Lilith were created.
Sorry. Still needs definition to avoid assumptions when I answer. What, exactly, does it take for us to not be automatons, in your definition? A will? Ability to choose? Or ability to choose uncaused to do so? Ability to choose according to one's own inclinations/preferences, uncaused to do so?I mean the free will God gave humanity so that we would not be automatons. Did Adam have that kind of free will.
I don’t think I’ll bother.Sorry. Still needs definition to avoid assumptions when I answer. What, exactly, does it take for us to not be automatons, in your definition? A will? Ability to choose? Or ability to choose uncaused to do so? Ability to choose according to one's own inclinations/preferences, uncaused to do so?
Fair enough. If you think I'm going to act like extra-Biblical add ons to the Bible don't matter -- especially blasphemous ones -- you don't know me very well.
Yes, the Bible did exist as a single Book at the time writings about Lilith were created.
In fact, the Bible existed as a single Book before even Earth was created.
But I don't expect you to understand.
Suffice it to say, the Bible was transcribed from Its place in Heaven to Earth line-upon-line and precept-upon-precept.
And I'll leave it at that.
You don't realize how supernatural the 1611 King James Bible is.
And I'm not going to try and explain it to you, because ... well ... I'm not.
And let's just leave it at that.
A man has to understand the value of community before he yearns for it. He can operate without it, performing God-given roles, but he needs it to be fully human. A woman was created in society with a man and is inherently a more social being who can get pregnant and add even further to the community. There is an explanation and profound exploration of the origins of gender here.God planed to do both genders for everyone is just that with adam, he delayed things a bit to make it more special maybe.
There are 2 versions of the story. There's the day by day. And then there's the other one more like a story (cp2)I quoted your holy book verbatim, AV.
WHOA! Did someone ARGUE that?Your "God cleaned up all evidence of the flood" is extra-biblical, too. The difference is there is actual ancient writings that mention Lilith.
WHOA! Did someone ARGUE that?
I'd say no. The soul of Adam is to continuously glorified God day and night with out tiring. It is not until after eating of the apple did Adam have free will. And did Adam have free will at that time?
I'd say no. The soul of Adam is to continuously glorified God day and night with out tiring. It is not until after eating of the apple did Adam have free will.
what was quoted in the quote I quotedArgue what?
If that was his soul, why did he disobey God. If he didn't have free will, how could have have POSSIBLY made that choice?I'd say no. The soul of Adam is to continuously glorified God day and night with out tiring. It is not until after eating of the apple did Adam have free will.
