Gonna count da chapters (not really "count" them as much as list them fer me own learnin'), as a way to become familiar with the books of the Bible, and maybe highlight one verse or so that catches me attention, and thus meditate on it.
Genesis 1:
Verses 3-4 stand out, highlighting that there was the "absence" of light (darkness) before God said "Let there be light"
what's intriguing here is that God "divided" the "light" from the "darkness"
If He "divided" them, does that mean they were "together", as "one"? What does it mean that He "divided" them?
(That's a whole Bible study in itself).
Wait a minute...then there's verse 2 where it says that darkness was upon the face of the "deep"...just what in the world is "deep"...what does that mean? Then it says "waters"....soooooo, the "face of the deep" is "waters"? Another intriguing catch here is "Spirit of God"......intriguing...so this is God's Spirit, the "Holy Spirit" then? I wonder what it means that the Spirit of God "moved" upon the face of the waters?
verse 2:
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
The more ya' dig ya' realizes there's so much more to "dig". It's an ONION, mon, wif lots'a layers. And in each "digging" God reveals what was not known before. It's an "adventure" each time. His Spirit is da best-est Teacher ever, and DELIGHTFUL.
"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." ~Jeremiah 33:3 (This could be interpreted as "SEEK me in my Word", which is surely a way to call unto God.) And "digging" in God's Word, is a fervent "seeking" for Him and "calling" unto Him.
